The Controls Automations Engineer performs research, development, design, and equipment programming giving functionality to mechanical designs.

Description

CCS currently has a career opportunities for two Controls Automations Engineers in our growing systems integration team. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and directed with a “can do” positive attitude willing and able to work in a fast paced team environment. The Controls Automations Engineer must be able to independently perform difficult engineering tasks to completion. That may include a variety of complex features, conflicting design requirements, unusual materials requirements, and the need to coordinate the work of others.


One position will be based in our Orlando, FL office and the other one in the Fort Pierce, FL office.


Responsibilities:

  • Independently performs difficult engineering tasks to completion that may include a variety of complex features, conflicting design requirements, unusual materials requirements, and the need to coordinate the work of others
  • Accountability for complete project execution including team leadership, control panel engineering, SCADA design, PLC and HMI programming, and site start-up support of integrated systems. Evaluate company proposal and customer project/equipment specifications in order to determine optimal machine control architecture.
  • Maintains and grows a solid client relationship.
  • Assists in both internal and customer acceptance testing of subject equipment.
  • Supports projects in the field as required, including but not limited to installation, secondary acceptance testing, and startup support/training.
  • Executes multiple project responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Uses AutoCAD to review, develop and maintain electrical schematic and conveyor layout drawings. Writing operations manuals for developed systems
  • Other duties might be assigned based on business needs.


Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related technical degree and 5+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Related automation experience with HMI, SCADA, PLC’s, and control system design
  • Packaging and process control experience in the Consumer Products and/or life sciences industries are preferred; beverage/brewery/food experience and engineering consulting experience are a plus
  • Ability to troubleshoot automated material handling equipment (i.e., motors, scanners, VFDs, photo eyes, encoders, etc.) and other electrical control equipment
  • Experience with VMWare platforms, AWS, and other cloud platforms a plus
  • Requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to be applied in design, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of packaging lines, process systems, and software systems
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. A baseline physical assessment might be required at times to support installation and start-up activities
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

  • Aveva/Wonderware Suite (including Archestra) 
  • RA FactoryTalk Suite 
  • Siemens (S7 and TIA Portal) 
  • Omron 
  • ThinManager 
  • Win911
  • VisualBasic/C#/Java is a plus


  • Hardware Requirements:
  • Allen-Bradley (Control Logix, Compact Logix, PLC5, SLC500) 
  • PanelView/Panelview+ HMIs
  • Industrial Communication Networks (Ethernet, Ethernet I/P, DeviceNet, DH+, etc.)
  • Siemens PLC/SCADA/HMI
  • Robotic programming experience for UR or some experience with COBOTS
  • Experience with VMWare or other Virtual platforms is a plus


Other Requirements:

  • Written and verbal communication skills in the English language, including the ability to communicate with Corporate level executives
  • Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal skills, and the ability to process confidential information
  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Train others in the company or customers with provided or self-develop materials


Travel:

Approximately 40% regional travel required to support installation and start-up activities.
