As the Director of Business Development, you will be responsible for driving the growth from startup to scale-up and expansion of Childfree Wealth®. You will develop and implement strategic plans to identify new business opportunities, build relationships with prospective clients and team members, all while increasing revenue streams. This role requires a strong understanding of the financial services industry and a proven track record of success in business development and sales.


We are seeking the right person to join our growing team. Childfree Wealth® is a life and financial planning firm that provides fee-only,  flat-fee, fiduciary services to Childfree and Permanently Childless people.

We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented individual to join our startup team as Director of Business Development. As the Director of Business Development, you will play a crucial role in helping prospects to understand how Childfree Wealth will help them to develop comprehensive financial plans tailored to their specific needs and goals and turn them into core clients as appropriate. This position is a full-time remote role within the US.

What we expect of you:

Responsibilities to Clients & Team Members:

  • Lead from the front, mentor where needed, provide guidance as necessary and, in all ways, support, and train your team to enhance their performance and productivity
  • Serve as a trusted advisor leading checkup (consultation) meetings with clients and guiding them through creating a life and financial plan that fits their individual needs
  • Communicate effectively with clients to explain recommendations and answer any questions that encourage them to become a core (ongoing) client
  • Qualify and engage prospective clients using a relationship-oriented sales approach
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless client service and satisfaction
  • Support the learning and development of all team members
  • Assist with creating and implementing workflows and procedures to improve efficiency and enhance client experience.

Responsibilities to CW:

  • Convert Childfree Wealth Checkup clients into ongoing financial planning clients
  • Align business development initiatives with company goals, ensuring a cohesive approach across the team
  • Set and achieve conversion targets, monitoring team performance against goals
  • Analyze internal data, market changes, and competitor activity to identify trends, areas for improvement, and growth opportunities
  • Report regularly to marketing and the executive team on performance, forecasts, and market feedback
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and changes in financial regulations
  • Ensure all financial planning activities comply with industry regulations and company policies
  • Design, lead, and implement initiatives to help Childfree Wealth® move from a startup to a scale-up operation. 
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Certification: CFP® Certification required
  • Education: B.A. or B.S. degree required, MBA or other related Masters degree preferred
  • 5+ years of business development experience within the financial services industry
  • Proven track record of driving business growth and increasing revenue streams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to rapidly build connections with clients 
  • Significant experience in closing sales of financial services
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Willingness and ability to learn in a continuous feedback environment
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize and track multiple tasks
  • Ability to quickly adopt and implement new skills, processes, and technology
  •  Ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions
  •  Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite is required
