The Structural Engineer collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and process engineers, to integrate structural solutions into large-scale industrial projects.

Description

Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural analysis and design for steel, concrete, and other materials used in industrial environments.
  • Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, industry standards (e.g., AISC, ACI, OSHA), and client specifications.
  • Work closely with project managers to define scope, budgets, and timelines for structural engineering tasks.
  • Provide technical guidance during fabrication, construction, and installation phases.
  • Conduct site visits to assess conditions, verify as-built measurements, and support troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate with civil, mechanical, electrical, and process engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of structural components.
  • Support equipment layout planning, load assessments, and foundation requirements for heavy machinery.
  • Incorporate safety considerations into designs, ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
  • Evaluate structural systems for resilience against industrial hazards such as vibration, thermal expansion, chemical exposure, and heavy loads.
  • Recommend improvements in materials, methods, and design approaches to enhance performance and cost efficiently.
  • Stay updated on emerging structural engineering technologies and software tools.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline (masters preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within specified time frame.
  • 5+ years of structural experience, preferably in an industrial, manufacturing, or plant setting.
  • Proficiency with structural analysis and design software (e.g.,RISA-3D, RISAFoundation, RISAConnection , MathCAD, Hilti PROFIS Engineering)
  • Strong understanding of industrial construction methods, equipment support structures, and plant layout considerations
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards: AISC, ACI, ASCE, NFPA, OSHA.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PE license
  • Familiarity with the industry
