The Mechanical Designer plays a key role in supporting the development and execution of mechanical designs for industrial and commercial projects. This position is responsible for producing accurate 2D and 3D drawings, assisting with design development, and collaborating with engineers and project teams to ensure designs are practical, code-compliant, and aligned with client objectives. The Mechanical Designer works in a fast-paced environment, contributing to multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail and quality standards.

Description

Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for mechanical systems, equipment layouts, and piping systems.
  • Assist engineers in preparing design concepts, layouts, and construction documents.
  • Revise and update drawings based on internal reviews, client feedback, and field conditions.
  • Collaborate with multi-discipline teams to ensure coordination across mechanical, structural, and electrical designs.
  • Interpret and apply design standards, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Support field data collection efforts, including site visits and improvement of drafting and modeling standards.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet quality expectations and project timelines.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Design, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related fields
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Autodesk design software (e.g., Inventor, Revit)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical drawings
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and industrial design principles
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office Suite


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments
  • Experience with 3D Scanning (LiDAR) and point cloud modeling
  • Familiarity with piping design, material handling systems, or process equipment
  • Experience with additional design tools
  • Exposure to applicable codes and standards
