Chenmark is currently seeking a M&A Associate. The M&A Associate role is designed to give individuals significant autonomy and development opportunities in all aspects of M&A, from top of funnel outreach through post-close transition and everything in between.


The M&A Associate will work directly with Chenmark’s VP of Business Development, Head of M&A, CFO, and CEO. Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Top of funnel search – thesis development, list building, outreach, relationship building
  • Underwriting – writing memos and developing models to support your own investment recommendations
  • Due Diligence – leading operational diligence workstreams to mitigate risk
  • Transition Support – working with CEOs of newly acquired operating companies to support the transition for the first ~90-days post-close
  • OpCo Consulting – work with operating company CEOs to support company initiatives


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in finance, accounting, or consulting
  • Investment banking, private equity, or PE diligence consulting experience preferred
  • Proven ability to solve problems in an agile, creative, and decisive manner
  • Comfortable operating with autonomy in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a lean team
  • Analytical proficiency
  • A passion for small business
  • An inherent curiosity and passion for learning


Location: Nashville, TN (preferred); also open to Portland, ME or Calgary, AB.
