The Fabrication Project Lead is responsible for the end-to-end fabrication process for all assigned projects, including creating build drawings and plans, assigning and directing carpenters during building, and ensuring the installation process meets all specifications. The Project Lead works closely with the Shop Manager to staff projects, order supplies and materials, and ensure all fabrication is of the highest quality.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Person in Charge of all scenic/fabricated elements for assigned projects from kickoff to completion
  • Advise Sales and Production during the estimating process with respect to costs for all scenic/fabricated elements
  • Maintain accurate knowledge of all scenic/fabrication elements of assigned projects; coordinate with producers, project managers, the sales team, and the shop as the point person for scenic/fabrication related questions
  • Create and help translate scenic and construction drawings; troubleshoot and solve fabrication issues
  • Supervise carpenters on assigned projects including planning and assigning sequence of fabrication and daily tasks
  • Coordinate with the Shop Manager for hiring and assigning of carpenters to projects and ordering fabrication supplies and materials
  • Own and manage expense reporting for each project budget in the appropriate P&L Tracker and in accordance with the Recon SOP
  • Participate in internal and external project meetings


Qualifications:

  • Skilled use of AutoCAD/Vectorworks/SketchUp/Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proven in-depth knowledge of fabrication techniques, methods, and safety practices


Salary

$40 - $55 per hour
