Executive Assistant & Household Manager

Support a Growing Business & Working Professionals with Childcare, Home Management, and other Administrative Support Duties

We are seeking a reliable and highly organized professional to join our household as a Personal Assistant, Household/Family Manager, Caregiver Assistant, and Executive Assistant. This unique position blends responsibilities in childcare, business support, household management, housekeeping, and administrative support making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety and thrives in a dynamic environment. About Us

We are the owners/founders of Change Craft, a boutique marketing, PR, and strategic communications firm dedicated to helping government, business, nonprofit organizations, and political campaigns navigate and succeed in making a positive impact. We’re seeking support as this growing business demands more and more of our attention. Our family includes two energetic toddlers, aged 2 and 3, who are in preschool from 8:30am to 4:00 pm on weekdays, and a small French bulldog. We’re looking for someone who can seamlessly manage childcare responsibilities in the evenings while also providing support for household tasks and organizational needs.

 

 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

 

Caregiver Support Duties

  • Pick up the children from school and ensure a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Complete bath time routine and prepare children for the evening.
  • Prepare dinner for the children and ensure they eat a nutritious meal.
  • Plan out breakfasts and dinners for the children in advance for the week noting breakfasts will be managed by the parents, lunch will occur at school, and dinner will occur under the supervision of this role each weekday night.
  • Monitor and replenish children’s supplies (e.g., snacks, diapers, bubble bath, ointments, shampoo/conditioner, wipes).
  • Monitor and replenish children’s food and groceries for breakfasts and dinners.
  • Engage the children in creative and enriching activities until bedtime including reading books, talking, singing, and playing games.
  • Complete bedtime routine to ensure children are asleep on time then monitor their activity using the digital camera/sound monitor.

 

Housekeeping Responsibilities

  • Manage all household laundry, including washing, folding, and putting away clothes according to strict guidelines for how various fabrics are treated.
  • Change and launder bed sheets weekly.
  • Empty and clean bathroom trash bins weekly.
  • Empty and replace trash bins in each child’s room weekly.
  • Replenish and restock supplies and materials used throughout the house (e.g. soap dispensers, tissues, paper towels, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, wet wipes, etc.).
  • Bring trash and recycling bins to the curb every Monday evening for pickup.
  • Tidy the house daily after the children are asleep, including wiping counters and surfaces, vacuuming floors, taking out trash, and general organization.

 

Executive Assistant & Home Management Duties

  • Coordinate and schedule appointments for children and pets as needed (e.g. dentist appointments, grooming appointments, or other activities as requested).
  • Handle dry cleaning drop-offs and pickups weekly.
  • Manage grocery shopping and restocking of household supplies based on approved lists.
  • Research and coordinate with home service vendors such as repairs as requested based on ongoing or unanticipated needs.
  • Collect, sort and organize business mail received at both the home mailbox as well as the business PO box.
  • Handle package drop-offs at the post office.
  • Schedule weekly car cleaning services.
  • Monitor and restock essential supplies throughout the house.
  • Manage family calendar and communicate reminders about appointments.

 

Pet Care

  • Provide daily walks and evening feeding for French bulldog.
  • Schedule and take the dog to grooming appointments bi-weekly.
  • Maintain adequate pet supplies, including food and waste bags.
  • Perform a daily yard sweep to pick up waste after walks.

 

Other Duties As Assigned

·      Being a team player to take on other projects or tasks as necessary to make clients, campaigns, or the Change Craft company successful within the scope of the role.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Fluent in English for professional work.
  • CPR and First Aid Certified.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Previous experience taking care of children and homes.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Loving, patient, and experienced in childcare.
  • Comfortable with pets and pet related responsibilities.
  • Proactive and resourceful, with a knack for anticipating household needs.
  • Professional demeanor with experience in executive assistant or home management roles.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to pass an extensive background check including criminal background, driving background, etc. managed through a third-party service to ensure safety.
  • Ability to work independently while achieving high expectation. 
  • Ability to remain flexible for changes in scheduling with advance notice including the ability to occasionally provide overnight services.
  • Excellent communication skills and reliability.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completed or currently enrolled in early childhood education curriculum or training.
  • Bilingual Spanish-English is a plus but not a requirement.

Location: Chatsworth, CA

Status: Full-time

Pay Range: $18 - $29 per hour depending on experience and qualifications

Benefits: Benefits include generous health plans for medical and mental health services, dental, and vision; paid time off including sick, vacation and holidays; and life insurance.

Paid Time Off: Vacation, Paid Sick Time, and Holidays included. Holiday schedule communicated in advance and subject to changes.

Travel: 10-20% Travel frequency (short trips daily for childcare pickups and errands)

 

Typical Weekly Schedule

·      Mondays: 12pm-8pm

·      Tuesdays: 12pm-8pm

·      Wednesdays: 12pm-8pm

·      Thursdays: 12pm-8pm

·      Fridays: 2pm-10pm

*Note schedule is subject to change and will be discussed in advance to plan accordingly.

*Approximately 1 to 2 weekend shifts expected per month; weekday schedule adjusted accordingly on weeks where a weekend shift is planned.

Physical Requirements:

Able to remain in a sitting or standing position for prolonged periods of time for the performance of duties. Able to lift and move boxes or materials up to 50 pounds. Able to walk up and down stairs without assistance. Able to hold or carry a young child. Able to read from a computer, laptop monitor, or tablet for a full workday and for long periods of time including fonts of various sizes from a variety of sources. Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, climb stairs, and move freely throughout the work space. Able to drive a vehicle safely.
