CFO Associates LLC Client Controller Remote · Full time

The Client Controller will be responsible for performing the day-to-day accounting tasks for external clients within a wide range of industries such as cryptocurrency/blockchain, e-commerce, professional consulting, and more. This role will be client-facing and will balance the priorities of multiple client needs, advising clients on their books, and meeting reporting deadlines.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Provide daily controller services for assigned clients.
  • Learning the industries, revenue recognition procedures and operational cycles of your assigned clients.
  • Learning the internal CFOA systems used to services clients (i.e., QuickBooks, Bill.com, and Fathom.)
  • Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all financial data prepared for and sent to clients.
  • Managing of Revenue and A/R Reports for client (QuickBooks.)
  • Managing of Bill Pay and A/P Reports for client (Bill.com.)
  • Reconciling of clients General Ledger Activity.
  • Using Excel to report, summarize, reconcile, and analyze clients’ financial data.
  • Preparing Month End Financial Statements for clients.
  • Reviewing Month End Financial Statements with clients.
  • Identifying variances and trends in clients’ financial data.
  • Preparing and reviewing forecasts with clients (Fathom.)
  • Researching of new industry software(s) to help in automating processes for clients and/or firm.
  • Looking for opportunities to improve and iterate on our processes relating to reconciliations, journal entries, intercompany financials, cash reconciliations, AP, collections, and any other areas you identify.
  • Actively participating in team meetings, anticipate and provide ideas for process improvement and opportunities.
  • Collaborating with team members to develop solutions to complex business challenges.


Qualifications

  • Confident, professional, and articulate in written and verbal communication.
  • Analytical mind with a focus on attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet with clients via telephone, Zoom and when applicable, in person.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Public Accounting or similar experience
  • GAAP knowledge, CPA preferred
  • Experience with SEC filings a plus
  • Experience with SOX compliance a plus
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks Online and/or Desktop.
  • Familiarity with general concepts of cryptocurrency and blockchain is a major plus!
  • Familiarity with Bill.com and/or any other bill pay/expense platform is a major plus!
  • Ability to learn internal systems and software related to blockchain and crypto.
  • Progressively improving and expanding accounting knowledge; practices continuous learning and retaining the material learned.
  • Strong time management and motivational skills.
  • Accounting & Finance General knowledge. Debits & Credits.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Experience with general business terms and transactions.

Working conditions

The job will be full remote position or in flex office time, if candidate is located in Tampa, FL.



Salary

$60,000 - $80,000 per year
