Associate Communications Manager

Hybrid | Central Oregon

Salary Range: $63,000 - $70,000 annually + Great Benefits Package

We are seeking an Associate Communications Manager to help connect people to our mission through compelling digital content, meaningful community engagement, and strategic communications. This role is ideal for an early to mid-career communications professional who is passionate about storytelling, enjoys working across multiple platforms, and wants to make a tangible, positive impact through their work.

 

As Associate Communications Manager, you will help bring our conservation      advocacy and community-building efforts to life by creating engaging content, managing digital communication channels, supporting public engagement efforts, and helping strengthen relationships with supporters, donors, volunteers, and community members.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Create engaging digital content across web, email, social media, print, and multimedia channels.
  • Manage and maintain website content, newsletters, action alerts, fundraising communications, and social media platforms.
  • Tell compelling stories through writing, photography, video, data visualization, and other creative formats.
  • Monitor communication performance metrics and use data to improve engagement and effectiveness.
  • Support brand consistency and help ensure communications are accurate, polished, and mission-aligned.
  • Help plan and promote events, campaigns, and community engagement opportunities.
  • Build relationships with community members, partners, advocates, and supporters.
  • Collaborate across departments to communicate LandWatch priorities and impact.

 

What We're Looking For

Successful candidates will bring:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of lived experience, education, and relevant training.
  • At least three years of professional experience in communications, marketing, public relations, digital media, nonprofit communications, or a related field.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience creating content for websites, email marketing, and social media platforms.
  •  A commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment.
  • Photography and/or videography experience.
  • Experience using analytics to evaluate and improve communications performance.
  • Graphic design skills.
  • Experience managing websites, preferably Squarespace.
  • Experience working with nonprofit CRM or advocacy platforms.
  • Experience with video, audio, or podcast production.

 

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Bilingual or multilingual communication skills.

 

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary for this position is $63,000-$70,000 annually. Starting compensation is dependent upon experience, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid position based in Bend, OR.  The successful candidate will be expected to participate in both in-person and remote work activities and will  attend meetings, events, and community engagement opportunities throughout the region.
