FACILITIES COORDINATOR (PT to FT)


01 / Role Overview

The Facilities Coordinator helps ensure Center Church's facilities are safe, clean, organized, well-maintained, and ready to support the life and ministry of the church. This is a hands-on role for someone who notices what needs to be done, takes initiative, solves problems, and enjoys creating environments where ministry can thrive.


02 / What You'll Own

Facility Readiness & Maintenance

· Ensure church facilities and ministry spaces are clean, organized, functional, and ready for Sundays, meetings, and events.

· Identify maintenance needs and either complete basic repairs or coordinate appropriate vendors and contractors.

· Coordinate preventative maintenance, inspections, and service for building systems and equipment.

· Maintain facility supplies, tools, equipment, furniture, and storage areas.

· Help oversee custodial, landscaping, waste management, and other facility services.

· Recruit and lead volunteers to support facility related needs.


Projects & Facility Transition

· Coordinate facility-related projects, including furniture, equipment, signage, technology installation, storage, and ministry spaces.

· Help plan and execute Center Church's move into its next facility.

· Assist with vendor coordination, inventory, furniture and equipment placement, setup, and operational readiness.

· Help establish maintenance schedules, vendor relationships, documentation, and operating systems for the new facility.


Safety & Ministry Support

· Help maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, volunteers, and guests.

· Identify facility and safety concerns and ensure they are addressed promptly.

· Be accountable for facility-related setup and teardown for Sundays, ministry specific meetings, and special events.

· Partner with staff and ministry leaders to understand and support their facility needs.

· Help recruit and coordinate volunteers for facility projects and workdays.

· Oversee the Safety team.

· Liaison between Center Church and police department

· Serve as the main point of contact and be onsite for events in our space run by external organizations

· Support events held off site as needed

· Is willing to work a flexible schedule when facility needs require it.

Experience in facilities management, property management, construction, maintenance, skilled trades, project management, or a related field is highly preferred.


04 / Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on role that may include moving furniture and equipment, performing basic maintenance and setup tasks, using tools and ladders, and other physical activities associated with maintaining and preparing church facilities.


05 / Position Details

The position will begin part-time at approximately 10–15 hours per week and is expected to transition to full-time around February/March 2027 as Center Church moves into its next facility. As we prepare for that transition, this person will take increasing ownership of facility projects, vendors, systems, and move preparation. The role will report to the Executive Director of Operations.


The anticipated salary range for this role is $45,000-60,000 per year ($24.00-$30.00 per hour while part time), commensurate with education and experience. The successful candidate is expected to be or become a covenant member of Center Church, faithfully uphold the membership covenant, and generously support the ministry of Center Church.
