Description

Social Media & Content Manager

Position Type: Part-Time / Contract

Compensation: $350–$500 per month

Work Arrangement: Hybrid — primarily remote with occasional in-person content creation and event coverage

Brands: Celestial Hope Rising Services (CHRS) and Celestial Hope Book Nook (CHBK)

Position Overview

Celestial Hope is seeking a creative, organized, and dependable Social Media & Content Manager to manage the organic social media presence and content creation for Celestial Hope Rising Services (CHRS) and Celestial Hope Book Nook (CHBK).

This is a hands-on content role. The Social Media & Content Manager will be responsible for maintaining an active and consistent presence across our social media platforms, with content published multiple times throughout the week. Content will include a combination of static posts, graphics, short-form videos, Reels, event content, educational content, promotional content, and other relevant formats.

The Social Media & Content Manager will work directly with the owner, who provides overall marketing priorities, brand direction, subject-matter expertise, and final approval. The person in this role will take those priorities and independently develop and execute the organic social media and content needed to support them.

This position does not include paid advertising or overall digital marketing management.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Management

  • Manage the organic social media presence for both CHRS and CHBK.
  • Maintain active social media accounts with multiple pieces of content published throughout each week.
  • Create a mix of static posts, graphics, videos, Reels, Stories, and other platform-appropriate content.
  • Develop and maintain content calendars based on the priorities and initiatives provided by the owner.
  • Write engaging, brand-appropriate captions and calls to action.
  • Schedule and publish approved content across applicable social media platforms.
  • Adapt and repurpose content appropriately across multiple platforms rather than relying solely on identical posts.
  • Maintain consistent brand voice, messaging, and visual presentation.
  • Monitor comments, messages, and appropriate community engagement.
  • Review basic organic performance and identify topics and content formats that generate engagement.

Content Creation

  • Develop original content ideas based on the marketing priorities provided by the owner.
  • Create branded graphics and visual content using Canva or similar platforms.
  • Film and edit short-form videos and Reels.
  • Take quality photographs and video footage for social media and other marketing uses.
  • Attend selected CHRS and CHBK events, programs, workshops, vendor events, and other activities to capture content when requested and agreed upon.
  • Transform event footage and photographs into usable social media content.
  • Repurpose existing photos, videos, educational information, products, programs, and business updates into fresh content.
  • Maintain an organized library of photographs, video footage, graphics, and other digital assets.
  • Identify opportunities for behind-the-scenes, educational, promotional, product, community, and brand-building content.
  • Coordinate with the owner when on-camera or subject-matter-expert content is needed, including providing topics or concepts in advance.

Newsletters & Email Content

  • Create newsletters for both CHRS and CHBK.
  • Write, format, and design newsletter content based on current priorities, programs, products, events, resources, and organizational updates.
  • Repurpose relevant social media and existing content for newsletters when appropriate.
  • Prepare newsletters for review and approval before distribution.
  • Maintain consistent branding and quality across email communications.

Managing Two Distinct Brands

The Social Media & Content Manager will be responsible for creating content for two brands with different purposes and audiences.

Celestial Hope Rising Services (CHRS) is a behavioral health organization providing mental health, family, and community-based services. Content should be professional, trustworthy, educational, engaging, accessible, and appropriate for families and the community.

Celestial Hope Book Nook (CHBK) is a wellness-focused brand offering practical products and tools designed to support emotional wellness, parenting, connection, and healthier families. Content should be warm, relatable, creative, engaging, and appropriate for a consumer/product-based brand.

The selected candidate must be able to maintain the unique voice and audience of each brand while consistently producing content for both.

Division of Responsibilities

The owner will continue to manage:

  • Overall marketing direction and priorities
  • Digital marketing strategy
  • Paid advertising, including Google and Meta advertising
  • Final content approval
  • Subject-matter expertise
  • Primary expert/on-camera participation

The Social Media & Content Manager will be responsible for turning those priorities into an ongoing organic content strategy and executing that strategy across social media and email.

The expectation is not that the owner will provide every individual post idea. The Social Media & Content Manager should be able to receive priorities such as a service, program, product, event, or topic that needs attention and determine creative ways to communicate it across the appropriate channels.

Qualifications & Skills

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience creating and managing social media content.
  • Demonstrate the ability to consistently produce multiple pieces of content each week.
  • Be comfortable managing content across multiple social media platforms.
  • Be proficient with Canva or similar graphic-design tools.
  • Be able to film and edit short-form video and Reels.
  • Have strong photography and visual-content skills.
  • Have strong writing, grammar, proofreading, and caption-writing skills.
  • Be comfortable creating newsletters and email content.
  • Understand how content should be adapted for different platforms and audiences.
  • Be organized and able to manage content for two brands simultaneously.
  • Work independently after priorities and expectations have been communicated.
  • Meet deadlines and maintain a consistent posting schedule.
  • Be receptive to feedback and able to make revisions.
  • Be available for occasional in-person content creation and selected events.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and good judgment.

Experience with mental health, wellness, parenting, healthcare, community organizations, or product-based businesses is preferred but not required.

Confidentiality & Content Standards

Because CHRS provides behavioral health services, the Social Media & Content Manager must understand that not everything occurring within an office, program, event, or community activity may be photographed, recorded, or published.

The selected candidate will be required to follow all organizational requirements related to confidentiality, privacy, consent, client information, photography/video authorization, and content approval.

Compensation

$350–$500 per month, based on experience and the agreed-upon scope of work.

This is a part-time contract position and is best suited for someone who can efficiently batch, create, schedule, and repurpose content while maintaining consistent communication and deadlines.

To Apply

Please submit:

  • A brief introduction
  • Resume or summary of relevant experience
  • Examples of social media accounts you have managed
  • Examples of graphics, posts, Reels, or videos you have created
  • Newsletter or email examples, if available
  • Your availability for occasional in-person content creation and event coverage

Applicants should be comfortable working within established brands while also bringing creativity, initiative, and original ideas to the content-development process.
