Location: Cedar Park Smiles and Georgetown Orthodontics

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour (based on experience)

Job description:

Join our dynamic orthodontic team as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), where your expertise will directly enhance patient care and streamline clinical operations. In this vital role, you will assist the dentist during procedures, manage patient comfort, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and safety. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will contribute to a welcoming environment that promotes oral health and patient satisfaction. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a privately owned orthodontic practice dedicated to excellence in dental care. Candidates must be willing to travel between our two locations in Cedar Park and Georgetown as we split our time between the two offices.

 

<Duties>


  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following proper sterilization techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment
  • Assist dentist chairside during various procedures, including placing various orthodontic appliances, routine adjustments, gingival and enamel contouring, and fabricating retainers.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging, ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Manage patient records using Dolphin patient software
  • Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort before, during, and after treatments to promote overall well-being
  • Provide dental education to patients about procedures, oral hygiene practices, and post-treatment care
  • Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with dental receptionists and updating medical records in accordance with HIPAA standards
  • Maintain infection control protocols, including proper disposal of contaminated materials and sterilization of instruments

<Skills>


  • Proficiency with dental software systems
  • Experience with X-ray techniques, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools used in orthodontic practices
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental assisting roles
  • Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently using four-handed dentistry techniques for increased productivity
  • Familiarity with infection control standards and sterilization techniques to ensure patient safety
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations for safeguarding patient information
  • Experience working in pediatric dentistry or with pediatric patients is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills when interacting with patients and team members
