Description

Responsibilities

  • Perform low-stress feline restraint and handling
  • Assist veterinarians during exams, surgeries, dental procedures, and diagnostic workups
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments per protocol
  • Conduct in-house lab work: blood chemistry, CBC, urinalysis, cytology
  • Operate digital radiography, ultrasound, and anesthesia monitoring equipment
  • Induce, monitor, and recover feline patients under anesthesia
  • Place IV catheters and support critical care patients
  • Maintain aseptic technique during surgery and sample collection
  • Document all patient care in PIMS system
  • Communicate treatment plans and post-care instructions with clients
  • Mentor Junior level staff members

Qualifications

  • Active Florida Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential, or eligible for licensure through the Florida Board of Veterinary Medicine
  • Graduate of AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program
  • Passed VTNE and Florida Laws & Rules Exam
  • Proficient in feline anatomy, pharmacology, and disease processes
  • Experience with anesthesia, IV catheterization, dental prophylaxis, and radiography
  • Fear Free or Cat Friendly Practice training is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and client-first mindset

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Extended periods of standing and walking
  • Manual dexterity for handling instruments and small patients
