Responsibilities
- Perform low-stress feline restraint and handling
- Assist veterinarians during exams, surgeries, dental procedures, and diagnostic workups
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments per protocol
- Conduct in-house lab work: blood chemistry, CBC, urinalysis, cytology
- Operate digital radiography, ultrasound, and anesthesia monitoring equipment
- Induce, monitor, and recover feline patients under anesthesia
- Place IV catheters and support critical care patients
- Maintain aseptic technique during surgery and sample collection
- Document all patient care in PIMS system
- Communicate treatment plans and post-care instructions with clients
- Mentor Junior level staff members
Qualifications
- Active Florida Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential, or eligible for licensure through the Florida Board of Veterinary Medicine
- Graduate of AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program
- Passed VTNE and Florida Laws & Rules Exam
- Proficient in feline anatomy, pharmacology, and disease processes
- Experience with anesthesia, IV catheterization, dental prophylaxis, and radiography
- Fear Free or Cat Friendly Practice training is a plus
- Strong communication skills and client-first mindset
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Extended periods of standing and walking
- Manual dexterity for handling instruments and small patients
