Key Responsibilities

• Conduct patrols of campus buildings and property to deter unauthorized activity and ensure safety
• Monitor access points and maintain a visible security presence throughout the facility
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and calls for service in accordance with established procedures
• Prepare accurate and professional shift activity logs and incident report
• Escort faculty, staff, and guests upon request or when operationally necessary
• Support training and adherence to industry best practices and STCL-specific protocols
• Escort vendors and service providers
• Provide lock and unlock duties
• Support campus events
• Work alongside fellow officers to enhance team performance and overall security capabilities
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, or emergency deployments as needed
• Identify safety hazards or unusual / suspicious activity
• Note and report any maintenance issues

 

Requirements

• A valid Texas Level 3 security license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety is mandatory for this position
• Prior supervisory experience in a law enforcement, military, or campus security environment preferred
• Demonstrated mastery of firearms handling, tactical response, and use-of-force protocols
• Certification in First Aid/CPR strongly preferred
• All personnel must meet grooming, uniform, and equipment standards outlined in the employee handbook
