Job Overview

Carter Psychology Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Psychologist (preferred), Therapist, or Social Worker to join our growing behavioral health team in Bradenton, Florida. This role offers the opportunity to provide evidence-based therapy and assessment to a diverse outpatient population—with a strong emphasis on children, adolescents, and families—while maintaining a healthy work–life balance in a hybrid schedule that combines in-person sessions with remote/telehealth care.


The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in mental health counseling, clinical assessment, and crisis intervention; is comfortable working across age groups; and is especially interested in pediatric and family work within a collaborative private practice setting.

Duties


  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine mental health needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Provide individual, group, and/or family counseling utilizing therapeutic modalities such as (but not limited to) cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychotherapy, and trauma-informed care.
  • Facilitate behavioral health interventions for diverse populations.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and document patient progress thoroughly.
  • Provide evidence‑based outpatient therapy and assessment for adults
  • Develop individualized treatment plans
  • Maintain clinical documentation
  • Optional consultation and collaboration with colleagues


Qualifications

  • Required
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related mental health field from an accredited institution.
  • Active (or license-eligible) independent license in Florida such as:
  • Licensed (Or License-Eligible) Psychologist ~OR~ Licensed LCSW.
  • Experience providing outpatient psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, or families in clinical settings such as private practice, clinics, hospitals, schools, or telehealth platforms.
  • Competence with clinical assessment and treatment planning.
  • Comfort using technology for telehealth sessions and electronic medical records.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

  • Background in pediatric and/or family therapy.


Schedule & Work Environment

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, with some flexibility in designing your hours to support both patient access and your own work–life balance.
  • Work Setting:
  • Outpatient private practice in Bradenton, with a hybrid model (in-person and telehealth).
  • Strong administrative support for scheduling, billing, and other non-clinical tasks.
