We are seeking a Quality Control Technician to help ensure our products consistently meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. This role is critical in supporting day-to-day QA functions, performing inspections, and maintaining documentation required for certification readiness and ongoing compliance.

Overview:

Carnivore Snax is a rapidly growing meat production and e-commerce company that specializes in delivering premium, shelf-stable meat products. In our pursuit of SQF (Safe Quality Food) and USDA certification, we are in need of a Quality Control Technician to play a crucial role in ensuring that our products consistently meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. This position is essential in supporting daily QA operations, conducting inspections, and maintaining the necessary documentation for certification readiness and ongoing compliance.


Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct regular quality control checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to verify compliance with company and regulatory standards.

- Monitor critical control points (CCPs) and assist in the implementation and verification of the HACCP plan.

- Record and report any quality deviations, non-conformities, and corrective actions taken.

- Support internal and external audits, including those essential for SQF and USDA certification.

- Keep accurate and current records, logs, and reports related to quality inspections, sanitation practices, and equipment checks.

- Aid in the development and enhancement of quality systems, procedures, and SOPs.

- Collaborate with production teams to ensure adherence to food safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

- Participate in employee training sessions on food safety and quality.

- Monitor sanitation procedures and perform environmental swabbing as required.

- Assist in maintaining product traceability and recall protocols.


Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field preferred.

- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a food manufacturing or meat production environment.

- Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, USDA, and SQF requirements.

- Strong attention to detail and a dedication to food safety and quality assurance.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with QA software systems is advantageous.

- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in cold or humid environments as needed.


Preferred Certifications (Not Required):

- HACCP Certification

- SQF Practitioner or Internal Auditor Training

- Knowledge of USDA Compliance

Salary

$21 - $21 per hour
