Job Title: Facility Mechanic Technician/Millwright

Location: Lewis Center


Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Millwright to join our team at a food processing plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of industrial equipment to ensure optimal machinery performance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with poly-phase motors, HVAC systems, and Siemens control systems. This role requires a commitment to maintaining operational efficiency, safety, and compliance with industry regulations.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Maintain a professional demeanor and represent the company positively.
  • Ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Perform timely and effective repairs, maintenance, and corrections on equipment.
  • Utilize appropriate hand tools, power tools, and testing devices for repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Safely use ladders and other equipment to access elevated work areas.
  • Comply with OSHA safety guidelines and all company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct highly skilled mechanical and maintenance tasks to support equipment functionality.
  • Diagnose and repair machinery and mechanical equipment, including motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, and other food processing equipment.
  • Identify and troubleshoot downtime events, determine appropriate action, and complete repairs to restore safe and effective operations.
  • Perform lubrication, cleaning, maintenance planning, and layout work.
  • Conduct welding tasks, including TIG, stick, and MIG welding on stainless steel, aluminum, and steel.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot PLC and HMI systems on Siemens control systems.
  • Manage and repair HVAC and duct systems as required.
  • Inspect and maintain shivs, gearing, and poly-phase motors.
  • Perform electrical maintenance on both low-voltage (LV) and high-voltage (HV) systems.


Qualifications:


  • A two-year vocational school degree or equivalent certification in a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience working in food processing manufacturing environments preferred.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of Millwright/Mechanical tech experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of equipment manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to react appropriately in challenging situations.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Highly self-motivated individual with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, respond to call-ins, and work holidays and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods of time.
  • Physical capability to lift and move objects weighing 50 pounds or more.
  • Willingness to work in extreme temperatures, noisy conditions, and confined or restricted spaces.
