Overview
The Facility Operations Lead is responsible for the physical integrity, safety, and daily functionality of the BVO facility. This role focuses on the "engine" of the building—managing technical operations, maintenance, security, and cleanliness. You ensure that the infrastructure is seamless and the environment is secure for both the crew and the public.
Key Responsibilities
- Opening Responsibilities (Start of Day):
- Conduct a full facility walkthrough to verify that all life-safety systems (fire, security, exits) are clear and operational.
- Review janitorial logs and perform a quality check to ensure the space meets "show-ready" standards.
- Identify and prioritize any immediate maintenance needs or security vulnerabilities before opening.
- Technical Operations & Maintenance: Coordinate the repair of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and manage on-site vendors for specialized maintenance tasks.
- Janitorial Management: Lead the custodial strategy, overseeing Facility Stewards and external cleaning crews to maintain a pristine environment.
- Security & Safety: Serve as the primary point of contact for security protocols, managing access control and responding to facility-related incidents.
- Landlord & Vendor Relations: Act as the on-site liaison for landlord communications and manage third-party contractors for facility upgrades or essential repairs.
- Closing Responsibilities (End of Day):
- Perform a final security sweep to ensure the building is vacant and all access points are deadbolted and alarmed.
- Coordinate with the night custodial crew to set priorities for deep-cleaning tasks.
- Submit a daily shift report detailing maintenance status, utility issues, or required landlord interventions.
- Ensure all non-essential building systems are powered down.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in facility management, technical operations, or building maintenance.
- A mechanically inclined mindset with the ability to troubleshoot infrastructure issues.
- Strong organizational skills and experience managing vendors or small teams.
- The ability to remain calm and authoritative during facility emergencies.
Work Style
- Proactive, observant, and highly attentive to the "unseen" details of a building.
- A hands-on problem-solver who prefers being on the floor over sitting behind a desk.
- Reliable and detail-oriented regarding safety and compliance.
Schedule
- Flexible, including early mornings, late nights, and on-call availability for facility emergencies.
