A day in the life of a Barista might look like:

-Creating high-quality, consistent, and enjoyable coffee, tea, and alcoholic beverages while maintaining a comfortable and efficient flow

-Preparing ingredients of beverage and pull espresso shots

-Adding flavored syrups or toppings to drink

-Communicating with barista team about what milk needs to be prepared for espresso beverages and steam it accordingly

-Communicating with barista team to ensure all ingredients of beverage are correct and as ordered by customer

-Delivering drinks to customers in a timely manner ensuring they receive the correct beverage

-Communicating to drink runner to ensure beverages are delivered to customer correctly

-Maintaining a clean, stocked, and tidy workspace

-Continuously stocking the barista station with cups, lids, straws, espresso beans, tea sachets, etc. throughout the day but especially at night before closing

-Reporting inventory needs to ensure all products are maintained in stock

-Reporting missing, broken or malfunctioning equipment needs to lead barista and maintenance so it can be replaced or fixed in a timely fashion

-Working the cash register

-Helping guests select items from the pastry counter

-Running drinks and food

-Bussing tables

-Other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate for this position has the following qualities:

-Experience in coffee, tea, and alcoholic beverage preparation

-21 years or older due to the handling and serving of alcohol

-Must be able to work at minimum one weekend day

-Training and willingness to continue learning about food and beverage preparation

-Exceptional listening and communication skills

-Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods

-Availability to work around peak hours, including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays

-A polite, engaging personality

-Commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence

-Willingness to work as part of a high-energy, efficient team in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements:

-Prolonged periods of standing and walking

-Must be able to lift, balance, and to carry items weighing up to 25 pounds
