Who are we looking for?

As Shift Lead you will contribute to the success of Butter Pecan Bakeshop by partnering with management to ensure operations are efficient and that customers have an excellent experience. The Shift Lead role is instrumental in ensuring efficient bakery operations and exemplary customer experiences. They partner with the management team, lead their shifts, and ensure adherence to our high-quality standards, policies, and procedures. As the leader, you will demonstrate exemplary customer service, focus, responsibility, a strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, motivate others and ensure team members follow policies and procedures at all times.


What will you do?

  1. Lead and oversee shift operations while on duty, inclusive of effectively planning, organizing, and implementing all daily operational routines and activities
  2. Collaborate with the Owner(s) and Manager(s) for effective staffing and scheduling, and ensure all activities are consistent with and supportive of business plans and goals
  3. Supervise, train and ensure all Crew Members are performing job duties and meeting expectations; assign duties to specific employees based on role and skills, and ensure compliance with company and safety policies
  4. Provide direction/supervision/feedback to Crew Members to maintain high levels of productivity and positive team morale
  5. Communicate Crew Member work performance to the restaurant management team and appropriately address. Role model and set a positive example for the entire team in all aspects of business and personnel practices
  6. Perform QA checks to correct areas of opportunity in operational efficiency, waste reduction, baking, dough making, and customer service
  7. Greet customers, deliver and model exceptional customer service, fulfill orders with precision, and serve customers with a consistently positive and helpful attitude, including answering questions, providing menu guidance and recommendations.
  8. Ensure Crew Members work together effectively, collaboratively, and efficiently
  9. Follow baking instructions, safety procedures, uniform compliance, and sanitary requirements
  10. Use specific kitchen machinery/equipment such as ovens, refrigerators, freezers, etc. safely
  11. Ensure cleanliness is conducted daily by delegating the cleaning of dishes, workstations, sweeping and mopping floors, washing/sanitizing/disinfecting kitchen utensils and high touch-point areas, and servicing restrooms
  12. Handle customer concerns and complaints professionally and calmly to resolve problems according to bakeshop policy
  13. Are performance-oriented and performance-driven; understand performance expectations and are aware of performance
  14. Balance cash drawers and prepare cash deposits as assigned by management team
  15. Complete all required administrative duties and daily paperwork including required checklists
  16. Supervise and perform closing and/or opening activities as directed by the management team
  17. Establish an environment of trust to ensure high morale, honest, open, and direct communication
  18. Contribute to the bakeshop’s success by accomplishing the expected work during each shift consistently
  19. Handle transactions using POS systems with precision
  20. Assist with dough preparation and baking, ranging from preparation to cleanup
  21. Conduct regular inventory checks
  22. Report and attend work punctually



Requirements:

  • RELIABILITY AND EXCELLENT ATTENDANCE
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a shift management position or management position in quick service food and beverage industry or hospitality
  • Food Handlers Certificate required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Food Handler's Certificate
  • Has integrity, positive attitude & takes initiative
  • Is comfortable working on a team
  • Works well under pressure and with a positive attitude
  • Has excellent communication, organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently.
  • Ability to multitask while paying special attention to detail and is meticulous
  • Previous experience using POS (point-of-sale) equipment
  • Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule according to business needs, including some weekends and holidays
  • Must be trustworthy. Will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to protect recipes, etc.
  • Has reliable transportation
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • 18 years or older

Physical Requirements:

  • Near continuous walking, kneeling, bending, and reaching overhead
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds
  • May be exposed to unusual elements including extreme temperatures of coolers and freezers

Job Types: Part-time, full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour plus tips
