Tax Department
This position is responsible for providing a broad spectrum of support to the Tax Manager and Tax department in a fast paced, challenging and rewarding environment. Requirements include extensive people, communication, organizational, technical and process skills, and the ability to continuously prioritize multiple projects. Successful applicants will thrive in a collaborative work environment, will be comfortable in both early stage, scaling and established companies, and will possess the Tax expertise to add value to clients by improving processes and procedures.
Essential Job Functions
- Provide administrative support to the Tax Manager and tax department in a manner that optimizes efficiency, resources, and client satisfaction
- Process, assemble, and e-file tax returns, extensions and estimates
- Prepare tax organizers and engagement letters in accordance with firm's policies and procedures
- Prepare correspondence, proofread and format documents using Microsoft Word
- Handle in-coming tax support documents, tax status interface with clients and staff
- Review and organize tax support documents
- Assist in development of training materials and department communications
- Maintaining client spreadsheet for each Form 1040, project trackers (Monday.com), etc. to be current and accurate
- Weekly reporting on document status and e-file status
- Coordinates with Tax Supervisor to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of workflows
- Work collaboratively to provide overflow and backup support for other team members
- Champion process improvement efforts
- Be a positive influence for the administrative team and the tax department
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Tax Manager
- Superior organizational and follow-through skills with strong attention given to details and deadlines
- Flexibility to change direction frequently between tasks and between different clients
- Proven ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects while prioritizing, planning and organizing projects simultaneously
- Ability to operate with a sense of urgency
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision as well as work cooperatively with all levels of management and employees
- Open to constructive feedback and on-going self-improvement
- Flexibility to work additional hours during peak periods of the year

Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in tax support work, office practices and administrative procedures
- Tech savvy with the ability and desire to embrace necessary software applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with all Microsoft applications
