Not your average accountant Burgmaier & Associates, Inc. is growing, and we need some more awesome people to join us. One position we are looking for is another Tax Preparer. It is an tax position so that does come with all the fun “stuff” like preparing tax returns for businesses and individuals. Unfortunately, we can’t really get way from all that. But it is so much more. Don't apply for this job if you’re looking for a position where you do the same thing over and over again, if you don't like cleaning up messes, if you don't like learning new technology or if you think "we have always done it this way so it's fine." We need someone who can keep up with the team’s energy, excitement and enthusiasm for accounting, technology, and process improvement. Now there are some minimum requirements to this position which are non-negotiable. You must demonstrate a strong understanding of tax and tax software. PERIOD. You must be more than comfortable calling (not emailing) clients. Sometimes you will literally be building things from scratch...so just looking at year's tax return may not fly in this position. We can be flexible on schedule. We are cool if you want to be virtual sometimes (but we tend to like seeing your smiling face in the office). So, who's in? Responsibilities:

- Manage the company's financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations

- Perform general ledger accounting and reconciliation

- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements

- Conduct financial report writing and interpretation

- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable

- Assist with financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management

- Work with private equity investors to ensure compliance with investment agreements

- Utilize Xero accounting software to manage financial records

Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

- 3+ years of experience in accrual accounting and general ledger reconciliation

- Strong knowledge of financial statement preparation and analysis

- Proficiency in Xero accounting software (or other accounting software is acceptable)

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
