Built for Better Counseling, a small Veteran-owned therapy practice with a mission to improve mental health access for men in Washington and Oregon. While open to all adults, we started with the observation that men’s mental health is often overlooked and the philosophy that it’s okay to unapologetically focus our practice on improving their health & wellness. We are a team of licensed mental health professionals with more than 26 years of combined experience working with men and their families toward healthier, more vibrant connection. When we had the idea of starting Built for Better Counseling, we agreed that men don’t have enough supportive places to grow emotionally and mentally. Men, like anyone else, need a therapy environment that is safe, personal, and effective. This is what we do at Built for Better Counseling.

Built for Better Counseling Services, LLC is hiring remote, part-time, pay-per-session Licensed Clinical Social Workers and Licensed Counselors. While the client base is growing, the minimum expected caseload per therapist is five sessions per week with the opportunity to scale up to meet your income needs. The income and schedule flexibility make this position a perfect side gig.

The successful applicant must have and maintain full independent clinical licensure for the state of Washington and/or Oregon, demonstrate continued professional development, and adhere to the professional and ethical standards of your profession.

Your title: Clinician III/IV/V (dependent on experience)

The position will report to: Erik Curl, LICSW, LCSW

Base salary: Therapists are paid in the first week of every month with a base wage between $40-65/hour commensurate with experience and based on the number of billed client contact hours performed the prior month. This amount is subject to deductions for taxes and other withholdings as required by law or the policies of the company.

Promotion potential: Built for Better Counseling has a progressive promotion scale based on training, certification, experience, and provision of supervision that allows for upward mobility.

Benefits: Built for Better Counseling does not offer health, dental, and retirement benefits to part-time employees.

Vacation and personal emergency time off: Built for Better Counseling Services does not offer paid vacation and personal emergency time off for part-time employees, but we do support work-life balance. Client continuity to allow vacations can be discussed.

Expenses: Built for Better Counseling provides the following for work from home employees.

· Basic limited liability insurance for each employee.

· Subscription to TherapyNotes web-based EMR, billing and client portal.

· Subscription to Google Suite for Google Voice and business Gmail account.

· Individualized Portland Therapy Center profile account.

· Office supplies.

· Locked cabinet/drawer for paper PHI.

Therapists are expected to provide the following at their own expense.

· Password protected personal computer (must have updated firewall and antivirus protection).

· Webcam

· Monitor(s)

· Highspeed internet service

· Additional office items as needed to promote comfortable and private home office space.

· It is also recommended (but not required) that each therapist purchases additional personal professional liability insurance.

Car/travel expenses: This position is a fully remote position and not approved for travel.
