Cook / Prep Cook / Line Cook
Broth & Soul is a new casual restaurant in Stockton serving warm noodle bowls, rice bowls, crispy snacks, and handmade drinks. We are looking for reliable kitchen team members to join our opening team.
This position may include prep cook, line cook, snack station, and kitchen utility duties depending on experience, training progress, and business needs. Paid training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients according to recipes and standard operating procedures
- Assist with broth, noodles, rice bowls, toppings, sauces, and snack items
- Work on the line during lunch and dinner service
- Follow portioning, labeling, food storage, and FIFO procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen
- Wash, clean, and sanitize tools, equipment, and work areas as needed
- Restock ingredients, packaging, and kitchen supplies during service
- Support takeout, combo orders, and expo/checking when needed
- Follow food safety, temperature, and cleanliness standards
- Work as part of a team and communicate clearly during service
Requirements
- Previous restaurant or kitchen experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right person
- Able to follow recipes, checklists, and step-by-step procedures
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 30–50 lbs as needed
- Able to work weekends and some evening shifts
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Food handler card required or must be obtained after hiring
Schedule
- Part-time and full-time opportunities available
- Expected hours: 20–40 hours per week
- Restaurant hours: 11:00 AM–8:00 PM
- Shifts may include prep, lunch service, dinner service, closing, and weekend shifts
Pay
- Paid training starts at $16.90/hour
- Regular pay depends on assigned role, experience, performance, and business needs
- Typical starting range after training: $18–$22/hour
