We are seeking an experienced Fiber Construction Manager to oversee fiber-optic construction projects. This role involves managing project timelines, coordinating with subcontractors, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and delivering high-quality network builds.
Description
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee underground and aerial fiber construction projects from start to finish. Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective execution. Supervise field crews, subcontractors, and in-house service providers. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as safety and quality standards. Coordinate with engineering, permitting, and inspection teams to maintain project alignment. Perform site visits, quality control inspections, and risk assessments to mitigate issues. Communicate with clients and stakeholders to provide project updates and address concerns. Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Track material procurement, inventory management, and logistics for construction sites.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in fiber-optic construction, telecom infrastructure, or broadband deployment.
- Strong knowledge of OSP (Outside Plant) construction, including underground boring and aerial installations.
- Experience working with municipal permitting, utility coordination, and DOT regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret fiber plans, blueprints, and GIS mapping tools.
- Familiarity with safety protocols, including OSHA, NESC, and local construction standards.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Willingness to travel across assigned regions as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
PMP or construction management certification.
Experience working with major broadband providers.
Knowledge of fiber splicing, testing, and troubleshooting.
