BrightShore Mortgage is seeking a highly organized and solutions-driven Boarding & Integration Specialist to play a key role in bringing new loan portfolios onto our servicing platform. You'll work at the intersection of technology, data, and operations—ensuring loan information is accurate, complete, and ready for servicing while partnering with teams across the organization to deliver a seamless client onboarding experience. Position Summary

The Boarding & Integration Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate, efficient, and controlled onboarding of loan portfolios into BrightShore's servicing platform while protecting the integrity of borrower, investor, and servicing data throughout the integration process. This role serves as a critical bridge between client delivery, data conversion, document imaging, servicing systems, and operational readiness, ensuring newly boarded loans are complete, balanced, validated, and fully operational.


The Boarding & Integration Specialist coordinates all aspects of flow loan boarding and portfolio integration, including data mapping, boarding validation, escrow balancing, document verification, OCR extraction, image ingestion, and systematic reconciliation between electronic loan data and source documents. This position utilizes modern technology, AI-assisted OCR platforms, and analytical tools to validate data quality, identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and implement improvements that reduce future exceptions while continuously strengthening the boarding process.


Working closely with clients, Loan Administration, Escrow, Cashiering, Technology, Data Integration, Investor Reporting, and Servicing Operations, the Boarding & Integration Specialist performs extensive testing of servicing data, validates financial balances, confirms document accuracy, and ensures all operational requirements have been satisfied prior to production implementation. This role also supports ongoing client integrations, servicing transfers, system enhancements, and automation initiatives that improve operational scalability and data quality.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute all aspects of flow loan boarding and portfolio onboarding activities from initial data receipt through successful production implementation
  • Review, validate, and reconcile incoming loan delivery files to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with client specifications and boarding requirements
  • Perform detailed data mapping validation between client delivery files, servicing system fields, investor requirements, and source documentation
  • Execute comprehensive pre-boarding, parallel, and post-boarding testing to validate data accuracy, system functionality, and operational readiness prior to production deployment
  • Analyze large loan-level datasets to identify discrepancies, trends, conversion issues, data anomalies, and integration risks requiring correction
  • Validate boarded loan data against source loan documents, collateral records, investor information, payment histories, escrow balances, and servicing system records
  • Balance escrow accounts, unapplied funds, principal balances, payment histories, fees, advances, and other financial information received during servicing transfers to ensure complete financial integrity
  • Perform document-to-system validation to confirm information extracted from loan documents accurately matches servicing system data
  • Operate, configure, monitor, and validate OCR and intelligent document processing platforms used to extract servicing information from imaged loan documents
  • Review OCR extraction results, identify recognition errors, validate confidence scoring, correct data exceptions, and continuously improve extraction accuracy
  • Analyze OCR performance metrics, identify recurring recognition issues, and partner with Technology and vendors to improve automation performance and document processing accuracy
  • Validate image ingestion processes, document indexing, file associations, and electronic document availability within BrightShore's imaging and servicing platforms
  • Investigate boarding exceptions, reconciliation variances, missing documents, conversion errors, and data inconsistencies while identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
  • Develop and maintain testing plans, validation procedures, reconciliation reports, implementation checklists, and quality assurance documentation supporting all boarding activities
  • Collaborate with clients during implementation projects to review boarding requirements, clarify data specifications, resolve conversion questions, and support successful servicing transfers
  • Partner with Loan Administration, Escrow, Cashiering, Investor Reporting, Default Operations, Compliance, Technology, and Solutions Specialists to ensure all operational and financial requirements have been satisfied before loans are placed into production
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT), regression testing, servicing system enhancements, automation initiatives, OCR improvements, and technology implementations affecting boarding and data integration processes
  • Monitor key performance indicators related to boarding quality, data accuracy, OCR performance, reconciliation results, implementation timelines, and operational readiness while recommending opportunities for improvement
  • Perform detailed root cause analyses on recurring boarding issues and develop process improvements that reduce future defects, manual intervention, and operational risk
  • Recommend enhancements to data mapping, system integrations, validation routines, automation workflows, OCR configurations, and quality control procedures that improve scalability and efficiency
  • Maintain detailed documentation supporting client implementations, testing results, reconciliation activities, system configurations, mapping specifications, and operational procedures
  • Assist with internal audits, investor reviews, regulatory examinations, operational risk assessments, and quality assurance initiatives by providing accurate documentation and supporting analysis
  • Protect borrower, client, investor, and company information by following established security, confidentiality, and data governance requirements
  • Serve as the operational owner of boarding quality by ensuring every newly integrated loan meets established standards for data accuracy, document completeness, financial integrity, and production readiness before being released to servicing operations
  • Continuously evaluate opportunities to increase straight-through processing by reducing manual touchpoints, improving automated validations, enhancing OCR accuracy, and strengthening system integrations through data-driven process improvements
  • Stay current on emerging technologies related to OCR, artificial intelligence, document automation, data analytics, and mortgage servicing integrations to continuously improve operational capabilities
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned in support of BrightShore's client onboarding, servicing integration, technology, and operational excellence initiatives


Education, Experience and /or Skills

  • Associate's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Mortgage Banking, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in mortgage servicing, loan boarding, servicing transfers, loan administration, quality assurance, business analysis, data analysis, system implementation, or a related operational environment preferred
  • Strong understanding of mortgage servicing concepts, loan boarding processes, servicing transfers, escrow accounting, payment histories, and loan documentation preferred
  • Experience working with mortgage servicing platforms such as FICS Mortgage Servicer, MSP, or comparable servicing systems preferred
  • Experience performing data validation, reconciliation, quality assurance testing, system testing, or implementation support preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze large datasets, identify discrepancies, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions that improve long-term operational performance
  • Strong understanding of data mapping, field validation, file layouts, import/export processes, and system integrations preferred
  • Experience working with OCR technologies, intelligent document processing, document imaging systems, or AI-assisted data extraction platforms preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, filtering, reconciliation, and data analysis; experience with SQL, Power BI, Python, or other analytical tools is highly desirable
  • Ability to read and interpret mortgage documents, loan data files, escrow analyses, payment histories, and servicing records with a high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and operational teams
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple implementation projects, testing initiatives, and competing priorities while meeting deadlines
