Bright AV is seeking a Director of Sales to lead and develop our sales team, strengthen client relationships, and drive revenue growth in live event production. You’ll shape sales strategy, manage key accounts, and develop new business while partnering across departments to deliver profitable growth and an exceptional client experience.

Description

The Director of Sales is a key leadership role responsible for driving revenue retention and growth, strengthening client relationships, and developing Bright AV’s sales team. As a member of the leadership team, this person will shape sales strategy, manage select accounts, and partner across departments to deliver profitable growth and an exceptional client experience. The role combines people leadership, account development, and hands-on sales execution, with collaboration on marketing initiatives that support sales.



Key Responsibilities


Sales Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop Account Executives through clear expectations, constructive feedback, and individual growth plans.
  • Develop and execute sales plans aligned with company revenue and profitability goals; represent the team’s priorities in leadership discussions.
  • Own sales forecasting, pipeline reviews, and CRM adoption and data quality; use account performance and win/loss insights to guide decisions.
  • Allocate accounts and opportunities based on revenue potential, team capacity, and experience; coordinate account transitions to maintain client continuity.


Strategic Accounts + New Business

  • Build long-term partnerships with corporate clients, associations, and third-party meeting planners; identify opportunities to expand existing relationships.
  • Develop new business alongside account growth, coaching the team on discovery, tailored proposals, presentations, and negotiations.
  • Qualify opportunities and RFPs based on client needs, strategic fit, margin potential, and delivery capacity in partnership with Operations and Production.
  • Ensure proposals, master service agreements, and statements of work clearly reflect the agreed scope, pricing, and margin expectations.


Marketing Collaboration

  • Partner with leadership and colleagues supporting marketing to align content and sales materials with client needs and business development priorities.
  • Contribute client insights and project examples to case studies, proposals, and outreach materials that communicate Bright AV’s value.


Hands-On Sales

  • Manage a select portfolio of accounts, developing growth plans and leading high-impact sales conversations to retain and win business.
  • Partner with Account Executives, Operations, and Production on client escalations, timely communication, and commercial resolution of scope or service issues.


Qualifications

  • Proven sales leadership experience with direct responsibility for coaching, developing, and managing a sales team.
  • A record of retaining and growing client accounts and developing new business through consultative, relationship-driven sales.
  • Experience selling services within live events, meetings, event production, or an agency serving corporate and association events; understanding of meeting planners and the event sales cycle.
  • Strong proposal writing, presentation, negotiation, and commercial judgment, including scope, pricing, and margins.
  • Experience using CRM systems, forecasts, and performance data to improve sales execution; ability to turn ideas into practical processes.
  • Collaborative leadership that combines trust, accountability, and effective partnership across departments.
  • AV production sales experience and marketing or sales enablement experience are preferred.
