We are growing our team and we have a lot of exciting work ahead of us. We are looking for a talented, experienced, and adaptable DevOps Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with implementing and optimizing observability tools, managing and improving deployment pipelines, and maintaining and improving infrastructure and cloud services.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain/improve CI/CD pipelines (we primarily use GitHub actions)
  • Maintain and improve infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and scaling on Heroku, AWS, and Azure.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system and application performance.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices for cloud infrastructure and applications.
  • Develop and maintain scripts for automation of various operational tasks.
  • Ensure high availability and reliability of applications through effective monitoring and alerting systems.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide support for production environments.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer.
  • Experience managing Rails and JavaScript applications across diverse infrastructures (we use Heroku, Docker/Azure, AWS and Netlify).
  • Solid understanding of AWS and Azure cloud services.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog
  • Knowledge of database management systems like PostgreSQL
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (we use Terraform)
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (we use Docker).
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and best practices.
  • Scrappy, adaptable, and open to learning (we have several different client environments we support)
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills (we have many opportunities for automation)


Bonus Points For:

  • Development experience in Rails and/or JavaScript frameworks
  • Experience with security hardening and SOC 2 compliance


Salary

$120,000 - $200,000 per year
