About the role

Our Veterinary Assistants are involved throughout the patient visit. You will work closely with veterinarians and Licensed Veterinary Technicians, helping prepare for what comes next, supporting safe handling and procedures, and keeping the details of care from getting lost in a busy day. This role calls for someone who notices when a patient needs attention and communicates it promptly.

What you’ll do

• Prepare exam and treatment areas, equipment, and supplies for appointments and procedures.
• Obtain histories, assist with humane handling, and observe and report changes in patient comfort or condition.
• Support sample collection and processing, imaging preparation, surgery and dentistry, and patient recovery under the direction of the clinical team.
• Document histories, updates, and charges accurately in Digitail; communicate clear handoffs.
• Help clients understand approved next steps and estimates, and know when to bring a medical question to the veterinarian or LVT.
• Keep care areas clean, stocked, and ready for the next patient.

What we’re looking for

• Spanish speaking is strongly preferred, particularly for client conversations.
• At least one year of experience in a veterinary hospital or animal care setting.
• Safe animal handling, sound judgment, attention to detail, and comfort working with a busy team.
• Clear, kind communication with clients and colleagues.
• A willingness to learn and to contribute to both scheduled and urgent care.

Position details

• Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, 9 a.m.–6 p.m.; Saturday, 8:30 a.m.–3 p.m.
• Pay: $22/hour | Full time, eligible for overtime
