Responsibilities:


  • Final Design and Design Freeze: Develop and improve systems based on field testing and certification feedback. Implement Design for Manufacturing (DFM) systems for efficient manufacturing and assembly. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless component integration.
  • Product Validation: Define and execute system test procedures to validate product performance and reliability. Analyze test results and iterate designs accordingly.
  • Production Fixture Design and Inspection Criteria: Work with the production manager to develop efficient assembly processes and robust quality assurance systems. Lead the development of production processes and quality standards for contract manufacturers.
  • Documentation: Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including specifications, drawings, bills of materials, assembly instructions, and test/inspection criteria. Maintain accurate records throughout the design and development process.
  • Collaboration and Innovation: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and software engineers. Provide technical guidance and mentorship, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and teamwork.


Requirements:


  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or passed FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) exam.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience in product design engineering, preferably in the consumer or commercial appliances industry, automation, or research and development. Experience in a full product development cycle, including UL or other certifications and product shipment, is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with SolidWorks and simulation tools. Strong understanding of electromechanical and automation systems. Familiarity with designing parts for injection molding, die casting, or stamping is a plus.
  • Innovative Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to design and implement innovative engineering solutions. Strong analytical skills to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and propose effective resolutions.
  • Leadership and Project Management: Proven ability to lead projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide technical guidance and mentorship.
