Seasonal Winter Ground Crew Member – Snow Removal
Brewster’s Landscaping and Lawn Care is seeking reliable, hardworking Seasonal Winter Ground Crew Members to join our snow removal team. This position is responsible for keeping residential and commercial properties safe and accessible during winter weather events.
Job Responsibilities
- Hand-shovel sidewalks, walkways, entrances, steps, and other pedestrian areas.
- Operate snow blowers and other small snow-removal equipment as trained.
- Apply salt, calcium chloride, and other ice-control materials as directed.
- Assist plow operators and equipment operators during snow events.
- Clear snow around parked vehicles, doorways, loading areas, and other difficult-to-reach areas.
- Perform snow removal safely and efficiently in cold, wet, and difficult weather conditions.
- Follow assigned routes, property instructions, and supervisor directions.
- Report property damage, hazardous conditions, equipment issues, or other concerns immediately.
- Maintain a professional appearance and courteous attitude while working on customer properties.
- Help load, unload, clean, and maintain snow-removal equipment and supplies.
- Work as part of a team to complete properties within required service times.
Work Requirements
- Must be dependable and available during snow and ice events, including nights, weekends, holidays, and early mornings when needed.
- Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods in cold, snowy, and icy conditions.
- Must be physically capable of repetitive shoveling, lifting, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and carry approximately 50 lbs.
- Previous snow-removal, landscaping, construction, or outdoor labor experience is preferred but not required.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from designated meeting locations or job sites.
- Must follow all company safety policies and instructions.
Important Snow Event Requirement
Snow removal is weather-dependent. Employees are expected to remain reachable and report for scheduled snow events when called in. If an employee is called in for a snow event and the storm produces little or no snow, employees may still be required to report, remain available, assist with preparation, or perform other assigned duties.
