The Job

Our goal is to give every guest a great experience through fun, real connections, and the best BBQ around. In the kitchen, that means doing it right every time.


What You'll Do


  • Work off the prep list
  • Prep and cook food to Sonny's recipes, production guidelines, and portion standards
  • Use the scale to hit correct portion weights
  • Learn and use Sonny's kitchen terms, plating, menu items, and procedures
  • Keep portions and waste under control
  • Handle knives and kitchen tools safely
  • Store, label, date, cool, and rotate food per food safety standards
  • Keep your station, equipment, and utensils clean and sanitized
  • Check product levels and restock as needed
  • Clean during and at the end of your shift
  • Help out wherever needed


What We're Looking For


  • Works well alone or with a team
  • Can handle several things at once and stay calm when it gets busy
  • Manages time well
  • Dependable, with a flexible schedule
  • Completes required company, state, and federal training and certifications
  • Restaurant experience or training preferred
  • Gets along well with people
  • Basic reading, writing, and math

Physical Demands and Work Environment (so you know what you're getting into)


  • Stand and walk for most of an up-to-8-hour shift
  • Regularly push, pull, lift, and carry up to 90 lbs
  • Constant bending, reaching, crouching, and handling food and equipment
  • Work in wet and humid conditions, around cleaning chemicals and moving equipment parts
  • Frequent handwashing required
  • Fast-paced, hands-on, team environment with constant communication
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made so qualified individuals with disabilities can perform the essential functions of the job
