The Shipping and Receiving Associate will be responsible for coordinating the movement of goods, materials, and products in and out of the warehouse. This role ensures that all shipments are received and sent out accurately and on time, maintaining the efficiency and integrity of our logistics operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Receiving Inventory
- Receive items in the warehouse daily, checking for proper quantity and quality
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips
- Properly receive purchase orders into Fishbowl (inventory management system), and submit packing slips to Purchasing
- Update the company for every received product return
- Place received items into their appropriate location
- Record and report discrepancies or damages to the appropriate departments
Preparing Shipments
- Create and print shipping labels for all Sales Orders, ensuring that the information on the label is accurate
- Oversee the shipping fulfillment of all Sales Orders, preparing all orders for pickup before the arrival of the shipping carrier
- Select the appropriate shipping boxes and use the appropriate packaging material
- Notify Customer Service of any labels and paperwork or issues
- Create commercial invoices for international shipments
- Verify the accuracy of all orders ready for shipping through quality checks
Warehouse Team Member
- Perform regular inventory cycle counts in the warehouse
- Assist in maintaining an environment of 5S quality standards throughout the warehouse
- Maintain a clean and organized working environment
- Communicate effectively with other departments to resolve any issues
- Work closely with the Warehouse Supervisor to streamline operations and improve efficiency
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience with Microsoft or google software preferred
- 2+ year experience in picking and kitting in a warehouse environment
- Vehicle harness-building experience preferred
- Ability to work at a fast pace to keep up with incoming orders and strict deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- High level of personal accountability and drive for high performance
- Effective oral communications
- Ability to speedily perform repetitive tasks on a regular basis
- Ability to handle and complete multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to lift up 60 pounds.
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience with 5S or other Lean Manufacturing Process preferred
- Experience with Fishbowl or other Enterprise Resource Planning system preferred
- Personal interest in process improvement
- Enjoy working in a team environment.
