POSITION OVERVIEW


The Demand Planning Associate will play a crucial role in ensuring our supply chain operates smoothly and efficiently. The primary focus will be on developing and refining accurate demand forecasts, directly impacting inventory optimization and customer satisfaction. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, particularly purchasing/buying, to ensure we meet customer needs effectively.

  • Thorough understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, including procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and distribution.
  • Knowledge of procurement, logistics, and distribution
  • Data analysis and trend identification
  • Understanding of inventory control and optimization
  • Ability to select and apply appropriate forecasting techniques based on data characteristics and business needs
  • Experience with demand planning software/ERP systems 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite


PRIMARY FUNCTIONS


Demand Forecasting

  • Data Collection and Analysis: Gathering and analyzing historical sales data, market trends, and other relevant information to identify patterns and trends.
  • Forecast Generation: Developing statistical and qualitative demand forecasts using appropriate forecasting techniques and software.
  • Forecast Refinement: Regularly reviewing and adjusting forecasts based on new information, market changes, and forecast accuracy metrics.
  • Forecast Accuracy Monitoring: Tracking and analyzing forecast accuracy metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • New Product Forecasting: Developing demand forecasts for new product launches, considering market potential and historical data from similar products.
  • Conducting sourcing and vendor qualification within the U.S


Inventory Management Support:

  • Inventory Optimization: Providing accurate demand forecasts to support inventory optimization strategies, ensuring optimal stock levels.
  • Safety Stock Calculation: Assisting in calculating safety stock levels to mitigate the risk of stockouts.
  • Inventory Replenishment: Supporting inventory replenishment processes by providing demand forecasts to procurement and logistics teams.
  • Excess Inventory Management: Identifying and analyzing excess inventory and providing recommendations for reducing stock levels.
  • Provide support across all stages of the supply chain as required.


Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Data Analysis: Analyzing large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
  • Report Generation: Creating and maintaining regular reports on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and forecast accuracy.


Process Improvement:

  • Identifying Process Improvements: Identifying opportunities to improve demand planning processes and systems.
  • Implementing Process Improvements: Participating in the implementation of process improvements and best practices.
  • Documentation: Creating and maintaining documentation for demand planning processes and procedures.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, economics, statistics, or a related field 
  • Experience in demand planning, inventory management, or a related field
  • Familiarity with demand forecasting techniques and inventory management principles.
