Youth Development Professional (YDP) – Live Oak Clubhouse

Status: Part-Time & Seasonal Positions
Location: Positions available at Live Oak Clubhouse
Compensation: $17.00 – $17.50 / hour

Key Responsibilities
Prepare Youth for Success
- Plan and deliver a range of programs and activities that are fun, creative, instructional, engaging, and support Youth Development outcomes, in accordance with established standards and goals.
- Uphold an environment that facilitates high-quality youth engagement. Ensure that members are encouraged to participate in a variety of program areas/activities and receive instruction and constructive feedback to develop skills in program areas.
- Demonstrate leadership and provide guidance to members. Act as a mentor and role model. Establish positive relationships with youth.
- Supervise members while on-site at the Club, ensuring safety, positive values, and Club-appropriate behavior. Provide positive discipline to uphold Club standards. May consult with parents concerning member issues.
- Ensure program areas are safe, well-ventilated, and well-lit, and that Club equipment is maintained in good working condition. Help to maintain an orderly Clubhouse, ensuring program areas are cleaned and reset after usage.
- Support the evaluation of Club programs on a continual basis and help to ensure that programs/activities respond to member needs, address their interests, and reflect their gender and cultural diversity.
- Conduct proper record keeping and reporting related to program activities, including daily participation, notable achievements, and any problems/issues. Participate in outcome measurement and evaluation, as needed.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and trainings.
- May support special programs and/or events (i.e., Torch Club, Keystone, Youth of the Year, etc) and/or participate in the implementation of other Clubhouse activities as necessary.
Knowledge and Qualifications
- A minimum of one year of work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization, planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics.
- Ability to multitask and be flexible in a high-energy environment.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
