Job Summary
The Psychiatrist at Boston Brain Center is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing mental health conditions through a combination of therapeutic interventions and medication management. This role involves working with a diverse patient population, including children, adolescents, adults, and families, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Assessment
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including clinical interviews, medical histories, and mental health assessments, to determine diagnoses and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Evaluate the impact of mental health conditions on patients’ overall well-being and functioning.
Therapeutic Interventions and Medication Management
- Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications as needed, ensuring effective and safe treatment outcomes.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling as appropriate or refer patients to other therapeutic services.
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
Patient Support
- Offer guidance and education to patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and the recovery process.
- Provide support for a range of conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders.
Collaboration and Consultation
- Collaborate with psychologists, social workers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care.
- Consult with primary care physicians, schools, or community organizations to support patients’ mental health and holistic well-being.
Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely patient records, including assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, ethical, and regulatory standards in psychiatric practice.
Education and Advocacy
- Educate patients, families, and the community on mental health topics to reduce stigma and promote awareness.
- Advocate for patient needs and support access to resources for ongoing care.
Qualifications
Education
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with a specialization in Psychiatry from an accredited institution.
Licensure
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Psychiatrist in the state of practice.
Experience
- Experience diagnosing and treating a broad range of mental health conditions in diverse populations.
- Subspecialty training or experience in areas such as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry, or Neuropsychiatry is preferred.
Skills
- Strong diagnostic and therapeutic skills, including medication management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Organizational skills to manage patient care effectively.
Working Condition

Salary and Benefits

$150 - $240 per hour
