The Psychologist at Boston Brain Center is responsible for providing psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to individuals experiencing mental health issues, emotional difficulties, and behavioral problems. This role involves working with a diverse client population, including children, adolescents, adults, and families.

This is a per diem position but it could turn into a permanent position.


Key Responsibilities


  1. Clinical Assessment
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments using standardized tests, interviews, and observation to diagnose mental health conditions and develop treatment plans.
  • Evaluate the impact of psychological and emotional issues on clients' behavior and functioning.
  1. Therapeutic Interventions
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychotherapy, and counseling, tailored to individual client needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and client goals.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  1. Client Support
  • Offer support and guidance to clients dealing with a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship problems, and behavioral disorders.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions and support groups as needed. 
  1. Collaboration and Consultation
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and medical doctors, to provide comprehensive care to clients.
  • Consult with schools, employers, and community organizations to support clients' mental health and well-being.
  1. Documentation and Record-Keeping
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including assessment results, treatment plans, progress notes, and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards in psychological practice.
  1. Education and Prevention
  • Conduct workshops, seminars, and educational programs on mental health topics for clients, families, and the community.
  • Develop and implement prevention programs aimed at reducing the incidence of mental health issues.
  1. Research and Professional Development
  • Stay current with developments in psychology through continuing education, research, and professional development.
  • Participate in research projects and contribute to the field of psychology through publications and presentations.

Qualifications


  1. Education
  • Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  1. Licensure
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a psychologist in the state of practice.
  1. Experience
  • Experience providing psychological assessment and therapy to diverse client populations.
  • Specialized training or experience in specific therapeutic approaches or client populations is preferred.
  1. Skills
  • Strong diagnostic and therapeutic skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in psychological assessment tools and techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Working Conditions


  • Environment: Work is typically performed in a clinical, hospital, or private practice setting.
  • Hours: Part-time position with standard office hours, but may include evenings and weekends depending on client needs and practice settings.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and use office equipment. Good visual and auditory skills for client interactions and assessments.

  • Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Benefits: Benefits will be discussed after the 90 days trial.

$65 - $90 per hour
