Job Summary: The Dietitian is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating dietary and nutritional problems. They work with individuals and groups to promote healthy eating habits, develop customized nutrition plans, and manage nutrition-related health conditions. The role involves working in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, community health centers, schools, and private practice.

Key Responsibilities


  1. Nutritional Assessment
  • Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments to evaluate dietary habits, medical history, and overall health status.
  • Use anthropometric measurements, biochemical data, and clinical assessments to identify nutritional needs.
  1. Individualized Nutrition Plans
  • Develop and implement personalized nutrition plans based on assessment findings and individual health goals.
  • Adjust nutrition plans as needed to accommodate changes in health status, preferences, and lifestyle.
  1. Therapeutic Diets
  • Design and prescribe therapeutic diets for individuals with specific medical conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, gastrointestinal disorders, and obesity.
  • Provide guidance on managing food allergies, intolerances, and other dietary restrictions.
  1. Counseling and Education
  • Educate clients and patients about healthy eating habits, nutritional principles, and lifestyle changes to improve their health.
  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to support behavior change and promote long-term health improvements.
  1. Collaboration and Consultation
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, including doctors, nurses, and therapists, to integrate nutrition care into overall patient treatment plans.
  • Consult with schools, community organizations, and workplaces to develop nutrition programs and policies.
  1. Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition plans and interventions.
  • Document progress and adjust plans as necessary to achieve desired health outcomes.
  1. Public Health and Community Nutrition
  • Participate in community health programs and initiatives to promote public awareness of nutrition and healthy eating.
  • Develop educational materials, workshops, and seminars on nutrition topics for various audiences.
  1. Research and Professional Development
  • Stay current with developments in nutrition science and dietetics through continuing education and research.
  • Participate in research projects and contribute to the field of dietetics through publications and presentations.

Qualifications


  1. Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an accredited, supervised dietetic internship program.
  1. Licensure and Certification
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • State licensure or certification, if required.
  1. Experience
  • Previous experience in clinical, community, or public health nutrition is preferred.
  • Specialized training or experience in areas such as pediatric nutrition, sports nutrition, or nutrition for chronic diseases is an advantage.
  1. Skills
  • Strong knowledge of nutritional science and dietetics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective nutrition plans.
  • Proficiency in nutrition assessment tools and techniques.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Empathy and the ability to motivate and support clients in making healthy changes.

Working Conditions


  • Environment: Work is typically performed in healthcare facilities, community health centers, schools, or private practice settings.
  • Hours: Full-time position with standard office hours, but may include evenings and weekends depending on client needs and practice settings.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and use office equipment. Good visual and auditory skills for client interactions and assessments.

Salary and Benefits


  • Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Benefits: Boston Brain Center will be providing  some benefits after the 90 days trials.

$35 - $55 per hour
