Position Overview

Booji Beauty Bar & Co. is hiring a talented and professional Braid Stylist to join our multicultural, education-focused team. We’re looking for someone with 5+ years of hands-on braiding experience, a strong portfolio, and a commitment to quality, efficiency, and guest care. As a Booji Braid Stylist, you will help us uphold our standard of excellence while delivering creative, fashion-forward braid services.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and ensure a positive, high-end salon experience
• Conduct thoughtful, effective consultations to align style outcomes with guest expectations
• Provide a wide range of protective braid styles, including but not limited to:
• Knotless and traditional box braids
• Feed-in cornrows and lemonade braids
• Passion twists, Senegalese twists, Marley twists
• Dreadlocks (starter, retwist, and maintenance)
• Perform braid extension services with precision and care
• Educate guests on braid maintenance, scalp care, and home care regimens
• Recommend retail products to enhance results and improve guest retention
• Maintain proper sanitation and cleanliness of tools and workstations
• Participate in front desk duties when needed (check-ins, phone calls, appointment scheduling)
• Collaborate with team members to uphold salon standards and contribute to a positive team culture
• Attend salon meetings, team-building activities, and ongoing education sessions

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum of 5 years professional braiding experience (non-negotiable)
• Portfolio showcasing your work across multiple braid styles (digital or printed)
• Ability to complete styles within set Booji Beauty time frames
• High school diploma or GED
• Excellent guest service, communication, and active listening skills
• Punctual, teachable, reliable, and collaborative
• Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and efficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a professional salon environment
• Familiarity with salon software (e.g., booking systems, POS)
• Interest in pursuing a cosmetology license or enrollment in a training program
• Understanding of textured hair trends and scalp care practices
