About This Role:

The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for a variety of administrative tasks necessary for supporting the care, growth, and development of the Black Visions staff. 


The ideal candidate for this role will be detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently as well as cooperatively, and have a passion for people. They are interested in increasing their knowledge about the HR function and excited about advancing the mission of Black Visions. 


CORE JOB DUTIES


Administrative Support

  • Process, verify, and maintain personnel related documentation, including employee applications, performance records, and leaves of absence.
  • Assist with the processing and administration of payroll
  • Support the hiring process by posting job vacancies, sourcing candidates, informing applicants of their status, coordinating assessments, and issuing employment contracts 
  • Assist with ad-hoc HR projects, such as collection of employee feedback
  • Liaise internal and external human resource inquiries to the appropriate point of contact 


People Leadership & Culture Keeping 

  • Explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants
  • Coordinate staff training activities, with support from the HR Director
  • Facilitate recognition for staff contributions to the organization as well as for personal or professional milestones
  • Support initiatives to foster a positive culture and extend care in moments of crisis


Teamwork & Collaboration (shared with all other staff members)

  • Contribute to regular meetings as an active participant or facilitator
  • Practice timely, honest, and proactive communication
  • Foster constructive and cooperative working relationships with others
  • Stay grounded in Black Vision’s shared values and the praxis of Black Queer Feminism
  • Be willing to learn, be vulnerable, and be transformed
  • Other duties as assigned


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • Believe in the mission, vision, and core values underpinning our work
  • Have an authentic love for Black people 
  • Desire to be in principled struggle
  • Have at least 2 years of relevant work experience or a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • Has demonstrated ability to work well independently as well as collaboratively
  • Ability to handle confidential information


OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE


  • Has exceptional communication skills as well as interpersonal skills 
  • Has exceptional project management skills, including an ability to manage multiple projects and pivot when needed
  • Is technologically literate, with knowledge of Google suite products 
  • Is interested in conflict resolution and transformative justice


SALARY


$65,915 per year as a full-time salary for roughly 32 hours per week.

A cost of living adjustment is enacted once every year equal to  the rate of inflation or higher.

LOCATION REQUIREMENTS:


The HR Coordinator must live in Minnesota and be able to regularly commute to our office in Minneapolis.
