The ReStore Site Manager will oversee the management of the ReStore location under the supervision of the ReStore Manager.

Description


The person in this position will oversee the management of the ReStore location under the supervision of the ReStore Manager. This includes management of the donations and the donation process from beginning to end, management of inventory levels and the needs of the customer. The Site Manager will also monitor sales history of products and seasons to maximize the efficiency of the retail sales floor and assist the ReStore Manager with all public relations, marketing, budgeting, and advertising functions of the ReStore.

Key Responsibilities

General Management

The site manager has a wide range of responsibilities related to managing the operations and performance of our retail store. To provide an idea of the scope of this position, the following is a non-exhaustive list of areas this position oversees:

  • Opening and closing of store
  • Staff and volunteer scheduling
  • Oversee customer relations and customer service
  • Training and development for staff and volunteers
  • Facilitate and lead monthly staff meetings
  • Collaborates on recruitment and onboarding
  • Manage employee performance and conduct quarterly performance reviews
  • Fosters and maintains relationships with community partners and donors
  • Create, maintain and present regular site performance reports
  • Analyze data and derive actionable outcomes
  • Inventory pricing and flow
  • Create, implement, and evaluate promotion strategies
  • Oversee all procedures and processes for the site, revise when necessary, and enforce compliance
  • Oversee product merchandising for highest sales
  • Contribute to creation of annual operating budget
  • Daily and monthly expenses to maximize net profit
  • Responsible for ensuring the location's compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Habitat For Humanity standards
  • Oversee the Rapid City ReStore Social Media presence
  • Conduct all other duties as needed or assigned by the ReStore Senior Manager or Operations Manager.
  • Support and promote the Habitat for Humanity mission


Required Knowledge and Skills:

1.      A basic understanding of construction materials, tools, and used product sales

2.      Able to work with cash registers, trucks and forklifts (forklift training provided)

3.      Flexibility in work habits and work schedule to support store needs

4.      Knowledgeable in POS systems and Microsoft Office products

5.      Experience in retail data analysis

6. Experience in sales and merchandising strategies

7. Basic understanding of employment law and experience in employee management

Nonprofit experience preferred

 

Educational Requirement:

1.      Experience equivalent to that which would normally be achieved by completing a

Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing.

2.      Minimum of 3 years of experience in retail management.

 

Required Physical Abilities:

1.      Physical ability to perform tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds

2.     Occasional travel as needed (less than 10%)

3. Ability to work for extended periods of time on a computer, seated in an office settings, and standing/moving in a retail setting

4. Occasional exposure to various environmental conditions such as direct sun, cold, rain, etc.

 

Other Requirements:

1.      Must hold a valid driver’s license and meet state requirements for automobile liability insurance

2.      Must be able to pass a criminal background check

3.      Agree to periodic personal credit check

Salary

$50,000 - $60,000 per year
