Position Title: Bookkeeper


Reports to: Finance and Human Resources Manager


Job Summary:

This bookkeeping position follows all GAAP and company policies/procedures to maintain the BHAHFH ReStore general ledger, manage our established accounts payable (AP) process, track house assets, and regularly report on various data. This position also assists with some limited Human Resources duties including, assisting with associate recruitment, helping to onboard new staff, manage the incident reporting process, and assist with Employee Relations interviews and concerns.


Responsibilities:

- Maintain the BHAHFH's ReStore financial books and general ledger utilizing QuickBooks

- Manage the established AP process (receive and processing receipts and invoices, issuing payments, communicate with vendors, cataloging documentation, etc.)

- Perform monthly reconciliation on bank accounts, credit accounts, and vendor accounts

- Regularly generate various reports from QuickBooks and/or Microsoft Excel

- Manage vendor onboarding

- Assist with new-hire onboarding (I-9 process management, policy education)

- Receive, process, and follow-up on incident reports in a timely manner

- Manage job postings, review applications, help schedule and conduct interviews, and assist the Human Resources Manager and ReStore managers with hiring decisions

- Assist the department manager in conducting various employee relations tasks (exit interviews, investigations, etc.)

- Assist the department manager, and ReStore manager with special projects


Qualifications:

- All candidates must be at least 18 years old and eligible to legally work in the United

States

- A degree in finance, accounting or a related field is desirable but not required

- At least 3 years of documented bookkeeping experience is required

- Some experience with recuriting and employee onboarding is required

- Experience with a non-profit organization is desirable

- The ability to educate other professionals on procedures, and accounting practices

- Knowledge of Generally Acceptable Accounting Practices (GAAP)

- At least 2 years of documented experience in data reporting and interpretation

- Impeccable professional ethics


Required Skills

- Advanced skills and abilities with QuickBooks software

- Advanced to expert skill and ability working with Microsoft Excel

- The ability to perform complex mathematical computations with computerized

assistance

- The ability to create and maintain efficient and transparent organizational practices n

managing a high volume of paperwork and data

- Ability to clearly communicate complex instructions in English both verbally and in writing

- Refined soft skills, including communicating with vendors, donors, coworkers and leaders


Physical requirements and environmental working conditions

-Able to work in a noisy, fast-paced office environment with frequent sitting, reaching, pulling, and light lifting

- Frequent work around computers, telephones, office printers, and scanners

- Infrequently travel, during the work day, to construction sites and off-site meetings which may include exposure to weather elements like limited rain or snow, cold or hot temperatures and limited sun exposure.


Salary

$19 - $27 per hour
