Black Health Outreach Enhancement Faith-Based Programs Associate New York, NY · Full time

The National Black Leadership Commission on Health is seeking a Program Associate who will assist in the administrative management of all core Outreach Enhancement Faith-Based (OEF) Programs in all Boroughs of New York City. The OEF program is designed to implement an integrated series of high-impact HIV prevention services targeted to geographic hot spots in communities of color where HIV infection is most heavily concentrated, as defined by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYCDOHMH). The Program Coordinator will assist with the program development, and community development as well as the creation of a recruitment and retention plan for faith-based organizations.

Description

Responsibilities:

  • Data Management: Review and print survey monkey and submitted reports for accuracy
  • File documents in Faith-Based Organization (FBO) folders online on Monday.com and in hard copy.
  • Keep the FBO deliverable tracker updated
  • Research robust ways for FBO engagement in the community
  • Research and update FBO/CBO Resource list
  • Research and develop printed educational resources for FBOs.
  • Maintain and update the database about FBOs’ services, activities, and events.
  • Assist with Capacity Building Training and technical assistance including administrative and outreach support to FBOs.
  • Represent the organization at meetings, conferences, and related events, as assigned.
  • Assist with planning, facilitation, and evaluation of capacity-building training.
  • Assist with preparing quarterly written monthly reports.
  • Planning and implementing health-based, proven to work, community and structural interventions; project planning; meeting facilitation and consensus building
  • Assist with identifying partners who can facilitate capacity-building training.
  • Assist the program team to coordinate FBO onboarding, orientation, service delivery, and data tracking for participants on various contracts
  • Knowledge of grant management is essential in ensuring FBOs receive payments for completed deliverables
  • Assist the program coordinator in developing quarterly FBO report cards.
  • Notify the coordinator of any outstanding FBO deliverables
  • Handle any appropriate responsibilities and functions as assigned by the program director.
  • Create and foster community and organizational partnerships 
  • Participates in the process of developing, obtaining, evaluating, and maintaining written and audio-visual health education materials as required by the program.
  • Contributes to program planning and evaluation by maintaining up-to-date records.
  • Assist the organization in cross-promotional activities with other programs
  • Participates in all staff meetings and activities as required.
  • Comply with all privacy laws including HIPAA, etc.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Community Health, Health Education, Community development Psychology, Education, or a related field preferred
  • Two years of experience in program development, preferably health education and/or population health
  • Knowledge of and ability to work with FBO organizations
  • Prior experience in a social service setting working with a multi-cultural young adult population
  • Demonstrated understanding and practice of the principles of community health
  • Experience with performance-based contracts.
  • Ability to create and facilitate workshops and training
  • Ability to closely collaborate with colleagues and function as part of a team to promote successful outcomes for FBOs
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and multitask while adhering to deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills; strong computer skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment


Benefits

The salary for this position is within the range of $50,000 - $55,000 per year.


Black Health offers accrual of up to 4 weeks per year PTO, 7 sick days. Seventy percent of employer-provided coverage for medical benefits, not including dental and vision. Position Details

This is a full-time exempt position based in New York, NY. Some travel will be required. Candidates must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccination by date of hire to be considered. Proof of vaccination will be required. Additional evening and weekend hours are occasionally required to fulfill the duties of this position. Relocation is not available for this role. Unfortunately, we cannot offer sponsorship at this time.
