Description

About Us

Black Cat Psychotherapy PLLC is a growing clinician-led practice built around curiosity, connection, and trauma-informed care. We are creating a space where both clients and clinicians feel grounded, supported, and able to do meaningful work without losing themselves in the process. We value maintaining a personalized approach to clinical work, where clients do not feel like a number but experience support that values their individual goals and needs.

We’re expanding to offer opportunities for therapists who are aligned with relational, evidence-based care and who value approaches such as EMDR, IFS, DBT, Gottman Method, and person-centered therapy. If you have an additional specialty/modality, we welcome you to share more about it with us.

If you are a clinician who feels drawn to this kind of work, we would love to hear from you.

"Where Curiosity Meets Healing"

Why Black Cat Psychotherapy?

Black Cat Psychotherapy grew out of its founder’s experience as a clinician. Having worked across a variety of settings—from insurance and community mental health to hospitals and private practice—she eventually built a successful solo practice of her own. She loved the autonomy and the ability to practice in a way that felt aligned with her values, but also recognized how much she wanted to share what she had learned with other clinicians.

She originally stepped into private practice after experiencing burnout. She was tired of working in environments where clinical care could feel secondary to productivity targets, financial numbers, and systems that didn’t always understand what it actually means to sit across from a client and do this work. She wanted to create something different: a clinician-led practice where both therapists and clients can feel at home—safe, supported, valued, and able to do meaningful work.

Black Cat is an extension of that vision—a place where clinicians can do meaningful work without losing themselves in the process, and where clients can feel genuinely seen and supported. As the practice grows, the hope is to build a team of clinicians who want to be part of creating that kind of space.
