We are seeking an experienced Line Cook to join our team and help prepare meals and food menu items for our customers. In this role, you will work under the guidance of our Head Chef to prepare high-quality dishes that meet the restaurant's high quality standards. You will be responsible for setting up the food-prep station, preparing ingredients, and cooking dishes according to the menu specifications. Your role is crucial in ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly during service hours by providing the necessary ingredients for the kitchen staff.
General Accountabilities:

Food Preparation: Chef responsibilities include handling a wide range of ingredients, including preparation of a variety of meals with emphasis on quality and consistency.

Menu Knowledge: Providing detailed and informative service knowledge about the quality of ingredients, nutritional benefits, and menu options to customers.

Food Safety and Cleanliness: Maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized work area, including equipment and storage areas, and following food safety guidelines as per ServSafe Food Safety specifications.

Inventory Management: Monitoring and restocking ingredients and supplies as needed. Keep track of inventory and ensure that all necessary ingredients are available and ready for use. Assist in Receiving Deliveries, help unload and store food deliveries, checking for accuracy and quality.

Ingredient Preparation: Wash, peel, chop, dice, and slice various ingredients such as fruits, vegetables, meats, and cheeses. Follow standardized recipes and portion sizes to ensure consistency in food quality and cost control.

Collaborate with Kitchen Staff: Work closely with chefs, line cooks, and other kitchen team members to ensure smooth operations and timely food preparation.

Assist in Plating and Garnishing: Assist in plating and garnishing dishes before they are served to guests.

Handle Equipment: Operate kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, mixers, and blenders safely and efficiently.

Upselling: Suggesting additional items or upgrades to enhance the customer experience through excellent service knowledge.

Teamwork: Collaborating with coworkers to ensure smooth operations and excellent service throughout the entire facility.

Adherence to Policies: Following company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar role may be beneficial but not always required.
- Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and sanitation practices.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to reach for specific objects at short distances in local working areas.
- On occasion may be required to lift and carry heavy objects, push or pull heavy objects; kneel, bend or stoop, and ascend or descend ladders or stairs.
