Job Summary:

Operations Maintenance Crew Leaders are tasked with keeping Tennessee roadways maintained and helping to keep them beautiful. This is done by driving and supervising the Operations Maintenance Technicians as they remove trash, debris, and other unwanted materials from the sides of our state roadways, and if necessary, help with these tasks. Teams will be sent out in waves to divide and conquer their territory for the given day.   

 

Responsibilities:

·      Able to supervise the Operations Maintenance Technicians, ensure that the assigned maps are completed correctly, and the project is done on time.

·      Responsible for the safety of our crews and the vehicle that they are driving. Driving recklessly and/or above the speed limit will not be tolerated.

·      Drivers will be given a company phone each morning and will return it at the end of each workday. This phone is to be used only for company business. If a personal call or text must be made, it must be done on the driver’s personal phone.

 

Requirements and Expectations:

 

·      Works year-round and is full-time

·      Normal working days are Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with a 30-minute lunch break

·      Works outdoors with crews and will work in various weather conditions including rain and heat

·      Has a valid Driver's License

·      Has an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with one (1) point or less or as is acceptable to the company insurance. Driver must report any accident or tickets immediately to management, including those that occur outside of the workplace. If the MVR changes after hire, driver is subject to termination or could be moved to a picker position with picker pay.

·      Good communication skills with the crew, project manager, and other managers as necessary

·      Able to work in a team setting but also able to work alone 

·      Able to read and navigate through a map which includes using GPS

·      Great Attitude 

·      Self-Aware 

·      Reliable

·      Must be able to Lift 40lbs 

·      Follows Policies and Procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook

·      Legally in the United States with proper documentation to complete Form I9
