Title: Sr Scrum Master

Location: Linthicum, MD (hybrid)

Working Hours: EST

Type: Contract, 12+ months (with extensions)

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews/demos, and retrospectives.
• Partner with Product Owners on backlog refinement, prioritization, and maintaining a healthy product backlog.
• Coach team members and stakeholders on Agile principles, Scrum practices, and continuous improvement.
• Identify and remove impediments that impact delivery timelines or team effectiveness.
• Promote a collaborative, self-organizing team environment where members are empowered to succeed.
• Track and communicate team performance, progress, and potential risks to stakeholders.
• Support the team in adhering to Scrum theory, values, and rules.
• Assess team Agile maturity and implement strategies to advance performance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience, with at least 3+ years as a Scrum Master in a software development environment.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or equivalent Agile certification (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and familiarity with Kanban, Lean, or SAFe.
• Proficiency with Agile project management tools such as Jira or VersionOne.
• Excellent leadership, coaching, and facilitation skills.
• Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
