We are currently seeking a CDL Equipment Transport & Fuel Truck Driver who prioritizes safety, demonstrates humility, and is committed to supporting our field team.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

This position plays a critical role in keeping our projects moving by safely transporting heavy construction equipment and operating our fuel truck to support job site needs. We are looking for a dependable and safety minded professional who takes ownership of their work. The ideal candidate has experience and confidence in hauling oversized and heavy construction equipment, communicates effectively, and adapts well to changing job site priorities. They take pride in delivering quality work, support the success of their team, and consistently demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to safety in everything they do.

Responsibilities:

• Safely load, transport, and unload heavy construction equipment to and from job sites.
• Operate heavy equipment as needed for loading and unloading purposes.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, equipment, and fuel truck components. Report any mechanical, operational, or safety concerns.
• Inspect & Document equipment for damage before loading and after delivery, report any damage immediately
• Ensure all loads are properly secured and comply with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
• Safely operate and fill the company fuel truck while adhering to all site-specific fuel handling procedures, environmental regulations, and safety requirements.
• Transport and dispense fuel to equipment and job sites in compliance with all applicable regulations, company policies, and best practices.
• Maintain accurate fuel logs, delivery records, and transportation documentation as required.
• Coordinate with field crews and supervisors to ensure timely equipment deliveries, pickups, and fueling needs are met.
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and work area.
• Represent Better Choice Development professionally when interacting with customers, vendors, and team members.
• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and DOT requirements.

 

Qualifications:

• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
• Current DOT Medical Card
• Experience transporting heavy construction equipment, including excavators, loaders, skid steers, rollers, and other earthmoving equipment.
• Experience operating fuel trucks and knowledge of proper fuel handling procedures is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of proper load securement practices, DOT regulations, and construction site safety standards.
• Ability to safely operate heavy equipment for loading and unloading.
• Ability to obtain and maintain any required endorsements or certifications related to fuel transportation and delivery.
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform the physical requirements of the position.
• Reliable, punctual, and detail oriented.

Pay Range: $30+/hr (DOE)

Schedule: 10-hour shifts, Monday–Thursday, with occasional overtime
