You will work closely with camp leadership to plan and implement a program that integrates Christian values, teachings and activities into the daily camp experience, fostering an environment of faith, growth and community.
**Lead Camp Counselor Job Description:**
As a Lead Camp Counselor at Camp Bethany, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and enjoyment of our campers. Working closely with the Camp Director and Assistant Camp Director, you will lead and manage a group of campers, as well as collaborate with other counselors to create a positive and engaging camp experience for children and their families.
**Responsibilities:**
- Prioritize the safety and security of campers at all times, adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Lead camp activities and games with enthusiasm, encouraging participation and fun for all campers.
- Delegate tasks effectively to junior counselors and camp counselors, fostering a sense of responsibility and initiative.
- Create a warm and welcoming environment for campers and their families, from drop off to pick up.
- Address and respond to any incidents or concerns that arise, communicating effectively with families as needed.
- Handle parent concerns or issues in a positive and creative manner, seeking solutions and maintaining open communication.
- Enforce a culture of kindness and respect among campers, junior counselors, and camp counselors, holding all accountable for their actions.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by camp leadership.
**Requirements:**
- Minimum age of 18 years old.
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in a camp or childcare setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Understanding and adherence to Christian teachings and values.
- Successful completion of a background check.
