Starbase is a cannabis brand house built by a crew of longtime friends and operators with deep roots in the industry. We operate out of a state-of-the-art facility with full automation, designed to deliver consistent, thoughtful, and high-quality product at scale. More brands are on the way as we continue to grow.
Our current lineup includes:
- Vacation — potent, bright, bold, and made for those who appreciate flavor, fun, and feeling it
- Country — grounded, terp rich, and built for the everyman. The perfect blend of quality and value.
We are scaling fast and this is your chance to get in early, own your territory, and build something real. Senior reps at Starbase don't manage accounts — they dominate markets.
What You'll Do
This is an elite hunter role for a proven closer who has already paid their dues and is ready to operate at the highest level. You will own a territory of approximately 100 dispensary accounts within the 495 belt — from the North Shore to the South Shore, MetroWest to the Merrimack Valley. Your mandate is simple and unambiguous: find every door that isn't carrying Starbase, get in front of the right buyer, and close. Then close again. You will be expected to carry a full book of business while continuing to build it aggressively. If you need to be managed, this is not your role. If you run toward competition and thrive on the grind of cannabis sales specifically, keep reading.
Core Responsibilities:
- Own, develop, and aggressively expand an assigned territory of ~100 retail dispensary accounts within the Massachusetts 495 belt
- Prospect relentlessly — cold call, walk in, and leverage your network to convert every non-carrying account into a Starbase account
- Present and sell the full Starbase product portfolio with deep cannabis fluency — terpene profiles, effects, format differentiation, and competitive positioning
- Build durable relationships with buyers, GMs, and ownership at the account level; be the rep they call first
- Consistently achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets — underperformance is not an option
- Manage the complete sales cycle: initial outreach, product presentation, negotiation, order placement, and post-sale follow-through
- Execute shelf placement, merchandising standards, and display excellence at every account visit
- Track and report on competitive activity, pricing shifts, new entrants, and market intelligence — be the eyes and ears of this territory
- Mentor and provide field guidance to junior Sales Representatives operating in adjacent or overlapping territories
- Lead market push activations, brand launches, trade events, and budtender trainings as a senior representative of Starbase
- Maintain meticulous and current records of all account activity, pipeline status, and sales data in HubSpot
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and logistics to ensure on-time, accurate order fulfillment and proactive issue resolution
- Note: This role does not involve transporting cannabis product. All product distribution is handled through licensed distribution channels.
What We're Looking For
- Must be 21 or older and legally eligible to work in the cannabis industry in Massachusetts
- 4+ years of proven B2B or field sales experience — cannabis industry experience is strongly required at the senior level
- Demonstrated track record of not just hitting quota, but exceeding it — quarter over quarter, year over year
- Deep cannabis product knowledge: strains, terpenes, cannabinoids, consumption formats, and the competitive Massachusetts market landscape
- Existing relationships with buyers, GMs, or ownership at dispensaries in the Greater Boston area are a significant advantage
- A true hunter mentality: you prospect without being asked, you follow up without being reminded, and you close without hesitation
- Executive presence and communication skills — capable of commanding a room, running a compelling product presentation, and building trust at every level of an organization
- Proven ability to independently manage a large, high-volume territory with minimal oversight
- Comfortable leading and mentoring junior team members in field settings
- Reliable personal transportation, valid driver's license, and willingness to travel daily throughout the 495 belt territory
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when market or account activity demands it
- Proficiency with HubSpot or comparable CRM, sales reporting, and pipeline management tools
Bonus If You…
- Experience as a cannabis brand rep, wholesale buyer, or dispensary operator in Massachusetts
- Active and engaged presence in the Massachusetts cannabis retail community
- Comfort capturing field content, running in-store activations, or supporting social media efforts on behalf of the brand
- Working knowledge of Canva, Adobe, or similar design tools for account-level marketing support
- Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply
What You'll Get
- Base salary of approximately $60,000, commensurate with experience
- Uncapped performance-based commission structure — realistic OTE of $100,000+ for high performers
- Mileage and travel reimbursement per Starbase Company policy
- Performance bonuses tied to territory growth, account acquisition, and quarterly attainment
- Paid Time Off per Starbase PTO policy
- A team that moves fast, values results, and rewards people who deliver
